Laura's journey to Split, Croatia

16 August 2016

In summary, Split is extremely touristy. As such the cost is much more than other parts of Croatia and there are many more tourist stalls. However, the weather was beautiful and there are lots of day trips which offer the chance to island hop for the day.
Quick stop for refreshments (and to get my hair up), before going for our ferry. Unfortunately our direct ferry had broken down, which meant a walk to a different harbour point, a 45 minute delay, then a bus across the island! Not a happy traveller!
The remains of the palace (above ground).
Still underground
Day 18: Under the Dalmatian palace. A new market place away from the heat. Specialities include Adriatic coral jewellery.

Found our hostel. Not the greatest but it will do for the night.
Since we had a day in the city of Split, we decided after a wander that we should do a boat trip so that we could go for a swim in the sea. Great decision! 4 1/2 hours on the boat and swimming in 2 different locations.
Day 17: Little wander around the harbour and of course, a stop off for a cold beverage!

Day 16: Got on an over night train last night and arrived at 7am this morning. Not the greatest night sleep on the top bunk of a triple bunk bed...bit worried I'd fall out!
