Took a whale watch and snorkel cruise on the Pride of Maui on Thursday 3/10. The water was choppy because the wind was 35mph. We saw 1whale and its calf the boat kept its distance but it was nice to see the tail and fins. Went snorkeling and saw some fish and swam behind a sea turtle. Captured it pall on video and also recorded whales singing on the same excursion. On Saturday 3/12 we drive back to Flatbread for lunch and walked around the shops in the small town of Paia. Then headed to Ioa Valley to hike. It was beautiful but not actually a hike. Just walking paths but still beautiful.

3/9/16 Today we took a long walk and found a farmers market and bought fresh fruit! Yum Then headed to slaughterhouse beach. Small beach in a cove. Windy so the surf was rough. We enjoyed the peacefulness. Fed birds cereal.

3/8 Walked the beach then headed to Flatbread. Excellent food. Stopped by the Hawaii county golf course and thought it was a nice course. We plan to play there a few times. Looking for a place to rent clubs at a fairly good price. Drove on a long one lane road which was scary. Later found out rental cars aren't allowed on that road. It was paved but narrow with no guard rails. Looked like a nice hiking trail off the road and we plan to go back.

Flight to Portland was in a small plane. It was mostly smooth. We picked up a breakfast sandwich at the airport and preceded to our connecting flight gate. 6.5 hours to Maui. Watched the Intern and 33. intern was great 33 was ok.
Took Light Rail to Seattle. Walked 7 miles downtown. Beautiful spring day. Ate a not so good Mexican eatery. Road the Ferris wheel. Afterwards went to the Westfield mall to walk some more and dinner at BJs Brewery. Food wasn't too good.
Hawthorne suites had limited resources and had us wait for a driver. We were not late but stressed. Room wasn't clean and breakfast was ok. Plan to cancel the stay on flight home
