Plenty of time for walking tour of Florence, gelato at Grom where it's still kept covered in metal tins. Uffizi courtyard. No time for museum tours today. Lunch near train station-delicious tagetelli pasta and wine. To train station in plenty of time for 1.5 hr return to Livorno. Then short bus to shuttle to ship. Back with time to spare
Took a chance on train again today into Florence. We are nothing but confident. Doumo worth the trip

Naples. We got a bit turned around but ended up with our own walking tour. Toured Architectural Museum with relics from Pompeii. Ordered latte. I liked it. Shot of espresso in large cold milk. Ken, not so much. Got turned around again on way back to ship but led to good wood fired pizza in cafe. (Did not use CityMaps2Go in Naples-big mistake)

Alessandro pub tour
Breakfast at our hotel Calavetto. Coffee in outdoor cafe nearby. Alilaguna to Island Princess. Unpacked and back into Venice per people mover. Vapporetta listened to Steve's Grand Canal Tour audio. Met Alessandro(reserved pub tour by email per Rick Steves advice). Several shipmates on tour. Great informative and fun tour included more wine than we could drink and enough cicchetti to fill us for the evening. To St Marks Sq for excellent music and expensive drink (ordered so we could sit at table) stayed late. Back to people mover stop on vaporreto. Should have taken Aliluguana from St Marks to pier. People mover closed. Walked following People mover track. Directed to go over the bridge. Overshot pier on wrong pier. Hanging over water to go around fences, gates. Finally to ship at 12m. Hungry, ordered room service. Best turkey club @1:30.

18 September 2015

Evening cicchetti crawl. Followed Rick Steves advice. Delicious small plates and wine by the glass. Crowded with tourists and locals. Invited to join a pub tour. Out to dinner with 2 couples from FL and Irish newlyweds.
