Anay's trip to Sri Lanka

7 May 2016

Final two days of chill and Beer @ the beach! No better way to end the holiday 🍻🌊

6 May 2016

Galle Fort and Unawatuna!

5 May 2016

An amazing view from the Airbnb we've rented. Also visited Ashok Vatika where Ravana kept Sita. Not much to see apart from a small temple. Nuwara Eliya has the perfect hill town feel, complete with an Edwardian Post Office structure built in 1875.

It's #StarWarsDay! So it was only apt that I wear a Darth Vader tee. Some pictures from the picturesque hills of Nuwara Eliya, famous for its tea plantations. This region produces the world famous Ceylon Tea. Fun Fact: This British guy apparently owns about 5-6 mountains around Nuwara Eliya that forms one humongous tea estate. (I also wants! 😩)

3 May 2016

Some pictures from the Dambulla Cave Temple - a 20min climb to what are five caves.

2 May 2016

Some pictures from the Pinawala Elephant Orphanage. The elephants came down to the river to have a bath. At Kandy, visited the Peradiniya Botanical Gardens.

1 May 2016

Independance Square. Giant Buddha Statue. Dutch Hospital Mall. It's Labour Day, and sadly all stores are closed. So we didn't end up shopping a lot, but the food at the Dutch Hospital Mall was delish. Go try Ministry of Crab if you're a sea food lover.
And a Good Morning to you too, Colombo!
Reached Bandarnaike International Airport at Colombo! It has just rained and it's humid, as any city by the sea(Oh no wait, it's the Indian Ocean!) should be. Exciting trip awaits 😁
