Time to reflect!
This foot massager seemed like the perfect end to our day in Singapore after hours of walking.
We were glad we planned a long layover in Singapore to allow us to explore, the city offers a very cosmopolitan feel, a stark contrast to the majority of South East Asia. It made for a nice change from the usual chaos that Asia offers and felt like we were preparing to leave the continent.
As we waited to board the flight I reflected on our travels over the past 5 months and felt saddened by the thought of leaving Asia. It felt like the end of a chapter, even though there is so much of the continent left to explore. We definitely made the most of our time in each and every country, seeing and doing much more than we ever imagined!
We will return to Asia one day to uncover a bit more of the continent, until then its bye bye rice, noodles and squat toilets!
Onto our next chapter...Australia here we come! 🐨🌏✈️👫🎒
'Gardens By The Bay'
Our sightseeing took us as far as the gardens by the bay. Beautifully green and a lovely place for a stroll.
Luckily we found shelter just before the storm rolled in!
We passed 'The Fountain of Wealth' and the Youth Olympic Park before taking in the incredible architecture of the Central Business District.
12 hours in Singapore
Upon arrival we had 12 hours to get through customs and explore the city. We caught the sky train out of the airport to City Hall, then headed out on foot to see as much of the city as we could.
We started by walking along the river and admiring the skyscraper skyline. Oh, and witnessing the biggest lobster and crab either of us have ever seen, just a shame we're not big on sea food 🦀🦂
Coolest air steward ever!
We left Bali to fly into Singapore for the day before heading to the Gold Coast, Australia.
On the flight the Steward decided to get out his guitar and sing us a couple of songs across the intercom! This is definitely something I've never seen before but certainly added a good feel to the flight. Only in Asia! 🎸🎤🎼😎
