Yesterday Eva and I took a tour of some of the surrounding areas in Ubud. We visited the holy spring temple, Tirta Empul. After we visited a coffee plantation where they still do everything by hand. They have lots of fruits and plants growing as you walk in and our driver told us what they were and what they were good for. At the coffee plantation they have Luwak Coffee which we tried. It's where the Civet eats the coffee beans and poops them out, then they are cleaned and roasted. It's meant to be one of the most expensive coffees in the world! It was pretty delicious! Our last stop was a gorgeous rice terrace. Our driver took us to a very quiet spot with hardly any tourists. It was so peaceful. On our way back we passed the busy spot and I was so glad that we had not stopped there!

My first night in Bali was a bit of a nightmare with a bank card that wouldn't work, expensive taxis, noisy drunk English idiots in my dorm and an air con leak all over my things, but it soon got better after meeting Eva and Jasmine. We explored Seminyak together and went on a trip to Padang Padang beach and Uluwatu temple. I then made my way to Ubud and have been here for some time now. I went to an art museum and Ubud royal palace and took a walk through the rice fields. Eva met me after a few days here and today we took a Balinese cooking class and visited the monkey forest.
1 May 2018
We visited supertree grove and watched the lights show and then went over to Marina bay sands to watch the lights so. They were both absolutely magical really impressive. On the second day we visited Universal studios and I didn't take any pictures 🤦🏽♀️
On my last full day in Singapore we visited the Botanical Gardens and orchid garden. For lunch we went to Central Perk which was a Friends themed cafe. In the evening we went up to the sky bar at the top of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel which is 57 floors up. The views were amazing and the cocktails were expensive! 😂
On our first full day in Singapore it rained heavily so we started our day by going to the national museum. In the afternoon we went to the gardens by the bay and visited the cloud dome and the flower dome. It was full of beautiful flowers and I really enjoyed it.
26 April 2018
We made our way to El Nido. Here we did two boat tours and visited lots of different beaches. The people in the Philippines are the friendliest I have met on my travels so far and I am so glad I decided to visit.
21 April 2018
I met Sophia and Pietro at Manila airport and we stayed in the city for one night. In the morning we took a flight to Busuanga and made our way to Coron Town. We enjoyed a night out and got talking to some local guys who were so friendly. The next day we took the Coron Ultimate Tour... we visited lots of places and did a lot of snorkelling and visited a lake with a gorgeous viewpoint. The next day we did the Island Escapade Tour and visited 3 different beaches. On our final day in Coron we did the town tour. We climbed Mt. Tapyas and finished the day by going to the hot spring.
20 April 2018
Whilst we were in Chiang Mai it was Thai new year. They have a festival called Songkran where they celebrate by having huge water fights in the street for 4 days. It was a really good way to keep cool in the heat, some people even used ice water which was nice but most used the canal water....
12 April 2018
I took a Thai cooking class in Chiang Mai with Marie. I made 5 dishes, all of which were delicious! We started by making pad Thai and Tom kha Kai. After, we worked in groups to make a curry paste. I chose to make massaman and used the paste to make my curry. We made the filing for spring rolls and learnt how to fold them up and then deep fried them. As a group we made mango sticky rice. We got to eat all of our food and it was delicious!

I took the slow boat from Laos over to Thailand which took two 8 hour days cruising up the Mekong. When I crossed the border it was too late to try to get anywhere so I stayed in the nearby town for the night. The next day I took the bus to Chiang Mai and met Marie there ready for the next day. We got up and made our way to the bus station as we were heading to Pai. The journey took three hours and the road was constantly winding left and right. We stayed at a place called Jikko Harem and it is definitely the most beautiful hostel I’ve stayed in so far. Pai was a cute little hippie town, filled with cafes and bars. Every night they have a walking street, filled with street food and stalls selling clothes, jewellery, art and gifts. Pai has got to be one of my favourite towns I’ve visited.
When we got back to Chiang Mai we had a day at an elephant sanctuary. It was so much fun to feed and play with the elephants. We also got to get into the water with them and splash them and then gave them a mud bath. I’m pretty sure I ended up just as muddy as the elephants!
22 March 2018
I started my visit to Laos in Vientiane where I had a day wandering around the city. I visited temples, a park, the shopping centre and a bakery. My drive from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang was a bit of an adventure. As we went up into the mountains it got very foggy and it was very difficult to see. The very top part of the mountain was not a proper road and where it had rained it was a mud bath. We slid our way up as far as we could but then the four of us in the minivan had to get out and push. I was in flip flops so you can imagine the state of my feet. After a while, it was proving impossible, so a digger had to pull us to the top. After 6 hours we made it there safely. I went with Matt, Kate and a couple of guys from our hostel to Kuang Si Falls which were beautiful. We swam in the freezing lagoons but it was really refreshing. One evening we climbed up Mount Phou Si for sunset and after we went to the local bowling alley and had a few games...definitely take after my dad!
13 March 2018
I met up with Marie once I got to Hanoi and we booked a trip to Cat Ba island. We went on a boat trip which had some stunning scenery and we did some kayaking. We visited monkey island where one little monkey stole my last bite of snickers when we were sat having a cuppa. Scared the life out of me! We celebrated Marie's birthday when we got back to Hanoi. Iv spent the last few days visiting museums and wandering around the city.
8 March 2018
I visited the imperial city in Hue and it poured with rain. I met Rosie and we decided to travel to Ninh Binh together on the night bus. It wasn't very comfortable and I had a Vietnamese man who preferred my seat to his own, leaving me very squashed all night. When we arrived at 6.30am we went straight back to bed. In the afternoon we climbed up to a view point and then went into the cave. The next day we cycled to the Bich Dong pagoda and I also tried an egg coffee which was delicious! Next stop.... Hanoi!
7 March 2018
I got picked up at 9am from my hostel by Mr. Teo. He was my guide and driver for the day. My big rucksack was tied to the back of the bike and I sat behind Mr Teo able to really take in the views. I felt so safe with his driving and he was such a sweet man. Our first stop was Marble mountain. I decided to walk up, rather than take the lift and by the time I got to the top I was dripping with sweat! After, we made our way over the Hai Van Pass which was incredible. The views as we climbed were so beautiful. As we hit the top it was quite misty and you could just about see down to the bottom. We stopped on the way to take photos and for lunch and we also visited elephant falls. Just before we got into Hue, we stopped and he bought me a coffee. I arrived in Hue at 4pm after a total of 75miles and with very sunburnt thighs 🙈This day was definitely a highlight of my entire trip so far!
6 March 2018
My next stop has been Hoi An. It's about half way up the coast of Vietnam and it's a beautiful place. It has an ancient town which is famous for its tailors, cafés and lanterns. Matt, Kate and I rented bicycles and cycled around the town stopping every 5 minutes to do some shopping! In the evening there was a corn festival and the town was so busy! We had a day where we cycled about 5km to the beach and in the evening, tested out the local street food 😍
27 February 2018
We took the bus to Da Lat, which went right up into the mountains. Here we had a whole day walking around the city. We visited the crazy house which was really fun, we took the cable car down to the temple and walked through the gardens and down to the lake, visited local markets for some shopping and went to a bar that was set out like a maze.
25 February 2018
I took a 4 hour bus journey to Mui Ne which is by the coast. I met up with Kate and Matt and we did an afternoon tour by jeep of the local sites. We visited the fairy stream, the fishing village, the white sand dunes and the red sand dunes for sunset. At the white dunes we got a quad bike to the top and had fun sliding down the dunes. Bet you can't guess who fell face first into the sand.... 😳
Back at the hostel we played some pool and the house rule was one foot on the floor, and if you can't then two feet on the table 🤣
22 February 2018
I took a very long bus across the border into Vietnam and arrived at midnight in Ho Chi Minh. Most long distance busses here are sleeper busses, so you get your own bed! This city is crazy and has 11 million people and 9 million scooters making it ridiculously hard to cross the road! The next day I took a little tour of district 1 and saw the sites. I took a trip to the war remnants museum which was a very sad morning. I met up with Kate and Matt who I met in Kampot and we went out for dinner and some drinks. We tried a delicious seafood hot pot 😍
14 February 2018
I spent almost 2 weeks in Kampot as I was enjoying it so much. Iv met some of the loveliest people and just had some time to recharge before heading to Vietnam. Karma Traders definitely had the best sunset views in town and the best bar staff.
4 February 2018
I spent a few nights on Koh Rong Samloem which was absolutely beautiful. There's barely anything but sand and jungle on the island. After that I travelled to Kampot with Marie where we met Julia and we've had such a laugh the last few days. Kampot is really nice, it's the cleanest and calmest place I've visited in Cambodia.
26 January 2018
Before we left Siem Reap we had a night out in pub street. I had lots of fun making friends with some Koreans! On my last night I met Gill and Lance for a lovely dinner. It was great seeing some familiar faces ☺️
Next I headed to the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. I spent the day visiting S-21 and the killing fields which was a very sad day.
23 January 2018
We made it safely across the border into Cambodia without being scammed and we took a taxi to Siem Reap. The way they drive around here is really something... 😬 we explored the night markets and took a day trip to Angkor Wat. We got up to see the sunrise but it turned out to be very cloudy! It was a great day with Marie, Miikka and Iidamiia and we had lots of laughs 😁 I think Siem Reap is probably one of my favourite places so far! ☺️
11 January 2018
This week I have been on Koh Chang staying in a cute little hostel called Pajamas. It's mainly been a week for chasing sunsets and reading my book.
3 January 2018
We had a really long boat and bus journey back to Bangkok and found ourselves arriving at 4am with nowhere to go apart from the local McDonald's. We said goodbye to Jordan 😢and then headed to our hostels. It was too early to check in still so I slept on a wooden bench in the reception. Later that day we visited a shopping centre called terminal 21 which had 9 floors, each floor representing a different city. We walked to a nearby park after which was amazing. It had a running and cycle track, a gym circuit and a huge lake with turtles! In the evening we visited patpong night market. The next day we went to visit some temples. We went by boat and our first stop was Wat Arun. After we went to Wat Pho which is where they have a giant sized reclining Buddha. We walked around china town and visited khao San road. When we got back it was time to say goodbye to Lauren and Jack 😢😢
31 December 2017
So we've spend some time in Koh phangan. Jordan came to stay with us and we made a few new friends. For New Year's Eve we went to the party in Haad Rin which was HUGE! I then went back to a bar we visited before to see my new Thai friends! We all had a great night and are definitely feeling the effects of drinking Thai alcohol from buckets!
24 December 2017
We took the boat to Koh Tao. Here we explored the island on scootersfor a day. The weather has been rubbish but the sun did make an appearance for Christmas Day where we chilled by the pool all day, drinking cocktails. This was followed by a three course Christmas dinner and a few drinks on the beach watching a fire show.
18 December 2017
We got the boat to krabi and a mini van to Ao Nang. Here we did a bit of sun bathing and spent a day at Rai Lay beach. We then took a coach and a boat to get to Koh Samui. The boat ride was horrific and so many people were sea sick! On Samui we went out and explored Chaweng. We went to visit Big Buddha and Wat Plai Laem.
13 December 2017
We spent 4 nights on Koh Phi Phi. We've eaten lots of Thai food and I had a foot massage. We took a boat tour on our last full day there and did some snorkelling, found some monkeys and visited Maya Bay.
9 December 2017
I met Lauren and Jack and we've spent the last few nights on Phuket. We stayed near the old town and have met with my friend Charlotte. We went for some drinks the first night, had a day at a private beach and a walk around the old town. Lauren and I visited a cat cafe. Today we are making our way to Koh Phi Phi ☺️
8 December 2017
Today we got up super early and went to Damnoen Suduak floating market. When we got home we met Jordan, the new addition to our room. We all took the bus to Central World shopping centre which is the biggest shopping mall I have ever seen. 6 floors and pretty much every shop you could ever think of! We tested out the Thai McDonald's... I found a double Big Mac 😍 We finished the evening with a few beers in our hostel bar.
7 December 2017
Yesterday we went to Wang Lang market and ate lots of food. In the evening Amanda and I took the boat to china town and ended up walking all the way to Patpong night market. Did a total of 20,000 steps in over 30 degree heat! We took the bus back to the hostel.
6 December 2017
It's been a long first day but Iv had fun exploring Bangkok ☺️
