A taste of Verona. A welcome trip back to enjoy the Christmas present that my husband had surprised me with. At our age we don’t need any more 'stuff' so love to share experiences and boy this was a belter! We had been in Verona for an overnight while at a wedding the previous year in the glorious Malcesine on Lake Garda and decided that we would love to go back to experience the opera and enjoy all the city had to offer. I was presented with this as a gift on Christmas Day I was thrilled to say the least as we love travelling. What a great city, easy to get around, plenty to do and see and great train service to get you further afield. The weather was hot...a bit too hot for me at 38 degrees, which meant that we took it slow, popped into to plenty cafes for long cool drinks and did a bit of shopping in the ‘cool' shops! We used Airbnb for the first time and were pleased we had. The apartment was across the river, so out of the main area, but only a 10 min stroll into the centre.
