Hola, Akumal!

17 September 2017

Matt enjoying the pool
The resort had beautiful flowers and trees all over the place.
No yoga today? No problem. I braved snorkeling alone and only got spooked when something (still don't know what) brushed my foot!

Himitsu hibachi for dinner. The sushi was ok, the rice was great. Beef and chicken not good but the shrimp rocked!
View from our room of the set up for televising a boxing match.
Afternoon sun showers in the pool. Must be nap time!
Pina colada cart at the poolside
Snorkeling right off of the beach and we watched 2 large turtles eat and swim.
Juana the iguana and another iguana waiting by the coffee cart
While walking the resort grounds with Matt I spotted a red headed woodpecker! I would have never thought there would be one in Mexico. Gods way of assuring me I am in the right place
Our corner room looking out over the resort. We could see a little bit of the ocean and were directly next to the piano bar. The first night that Divo was playing (3 tenors cover band) was a little loud
Beautiful sunrise over Akumal bay. Now another rough day of yoga, mimosas, icebergs, floating in the pool, water aerobics, siesta..,

Foam!
Foam party is getting ready to begin...😳
Yoga on the beach was great! Then we floated in he pool with our drinks. Now Matts sleeping in the room and I'm reading under an umbrella with 2 glasses of crystal (mineral h2o)
Last nights biggest decisions...rain shower or jetted tub. Grilled calamari, coconut shrimp, scallops with blue cheese or fresh fish off the grill.
I love with this morning comes! It's like Christmas. Cappuccinos and outdoor yoga. Followed by another tough decision, where to sit by the pool.

Remnants of Hurricane Irma and a rough hurricane year have brought a late afternoon thunderstorm. I'm sitting on our balcony listening to the rain. Very relaxing!
After a longish ride from the airport, we arrived at Secrets Akumal. When we walked in the lobby a man named Marco handed us a glass of champagne and said "welcome home sir." We will have to try to replicate this at home with Marko😂
