Such a quaint little hidey-hole in the country.

A great day in Stratford-upon-Avon. Birthplace of Shakespeare, the home of this quirky magic shop and the incredible mad museum. I even managed to get myself a unique wand.

After a few days on the longboat with 5 adults, it felt like time to have more space. Found this lovely hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon. #oakhotel. Sooooo pretty and the food is scrumptious

esterday 7 April we woke up in the beautiful Nottingham City. The home of Robin Hood. We started the morning with a scrumptious breakfast at the Fox Cafe, then jumped on and off the tram through the city, taking in the sights. A Robin Hood tour with real mean in tights, viewing an amazing art exhibition in the large halls of Nottingham castle, followed by lunch at the oldest Inn - field with bewitched pregnancy chairs and cursed galleons. And yes...that is scampi - like our pilchards, not quite for me but you have to try something at least once
Beautiful start to a day in Nottingham City. I'm in love with it already

A really different way to travel through the UK, take to the canals! I must say operating the lochs was super fun , but having 5 adults on a small "caravan on water" did start taking its toll, so we were lucky enough to break it up with some "offshore" hotel stays...
Amazing day out in Haworth, birthplace of the Bronte sisters.

Road tripping from Aviemore to Bradford. 11 hours later we've arrived. Staying g at a traditional old hotel in rooms above the pub....quirky.
We're passed Edinburgh! Last lunchtime spot - old fishing town of Dunbar. Trying out the swordfish special at the royal mackintosh hotel (built in the 1800's)
Roadtrippin' to bradford! Early start for our 6 or so hour drive to get to England. Very small car plus very big bags it's quite a squeeze. Stopped along the way at Pitlochry, sooooo cute and I bought a wool lined two in tartan.

What an amazing tour. Viewing the unsung hero's of the whiskey industry- the Coopers. Only 1 of 3 cooperage's across the world, t he old school cask making was amazing to watch live.

Today we hit the whisky tour route. Well, we started at Glen livet and the avid whisky drinkers felt that one was more than enough to tick off their list. At 60% pure they were feeling rather warm...lol. I was DD so just a sip and watching the rest succumb to their wee dram was hysterical.

Finally a castle. Urquhart Castle in Loch Ness. Great to see and experience. Rain and all.

Tried to see a castle. But could only get to the outskirts of Inverness Castle which is now the courthouse, still awesome. Inverness is a stunning town full of curios and Clan memoriablia. The Crawford Clan tartan is very hard to come by but we did manage to get dad his clans tie. Still looking for something under the macdonald Clan which the Mccrindle's will fall under. Lively heritage.
@mustard seed Inverness. Lovely atmosphere, great food, better company.
Off to touch some snow....woohoo. Cairngorm mountain was stunning. Perfect time of year. Definitely gonna put this on my to do list. Learn to ski and spend a week here.

First mushy peas at Smiffys
Good morning world! So 4 days into our trip it's been amazing and busy, so apologies for the Facebook silence. I'll be updating a digital journi diary as we go and will share the link asap, but for now I'd like to introduce Scotty aka William Wallace. He's born in Aviemore but will now join the Crawfie Clan and eventually be Brennans new BFF. He's also tasked with collecting our badges for Aiden. Serious stuff. First day with us and he's done all this....
Visiting Carrbridge. Such a stunning piece of history. Built in 1717... we also did a quick trip at the cullouden battlefield where the Jacobite's fought the government. Sad to see how many lives were lost but it's a beautiful memorial.

We have landed! After 3 flights - Jhb to Dubai, Dubai to Gatwick then Gatwick to Inverness- the Clan have officially arrived! With only 1 bag missing, an amazing race dash by Wade and myself through Gatwick airport and Dad being "violated" by Gatwick security, these crazies made it back to our roots. It's beautiful here. Breathtaking scenery with the clearest blue skies imaginable.
