T U S C A N Y #oneyearmarried

9 September 2016

Last day in Tuscany, at noon we started our way back to Austria!

8 September 2016

Il bisteccha all'alpino with big porcini on top. This is the dinner we wanted to keep for our last evening! Amazing πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
We had a quick coffee at the bar in Rignano sull'Arno, saw a grenadine tree and did some prosciutto shopping.
We had a relaxed day at the pool with great weather! And we showed our weddings albums to Livia and bought some wine and olive oil for home!

7 September 2016

Piazza Dante - the University area of Pisa. Really nice with a lot of cafΓ©s.
Ponte di Mezzo and streets of Pisa.
Palazzo dei Cavalieri
We did what everyone did πŸ™ˆ
Il Campo dei Miracolli with Pisas famous buildings: the Battistero in front, il Duomo Santa Maria Assunta where parts are currently under renovation, the cemetery Camposanto and of course the Torre Pendente. A beautiful place with way to much tourists 😬
Goodbye Lucca. Next stop: Pisa.
The piazza anfiteatro is nearly a circle surrounded by houses. In roman times there was actually an amphitheater there, that's where the name and shape of this piazza is coming from. Until 1830, the Italians even build houses inside the circle, but they where removed to rebuild the old place.
1112 they build San Frediano. The big gold mosaic shows Christi with two angels and the 12 apostels.
We had a calzone for lunch πŸ‘ŒπŸ» really nice trattoria with only five tables in a small sidestreet! The waiter was a funny old guy. A little bit crazy and not that fast but you know fast is relative, especially down here in Italy. πŸ˜‚
San Michele in Foro. The Pizza San Michele is the heart of the city. Interesting fact: The 5 floor facade was actually build for a much bigger church, but they never build it.
Il duomo San Martino has a beautiful roman facade made by lombardic maestro Guidetto da Como. Each of the pillars have a different style.
Coffee break in front of the dome.
We entered Lucca through Porta San Pietro and went in underneath the old city walls! There have been 11 bastions, equipped with 126 canones. The walls didn't help to protect the city against enemies but it safed them from fluddings.
Today the weather is cloudy so we are driving to Pisa and Lucca! πŸš—

6 September 2016

What a great sandwich! We went to the winery/macchelleria "All' antico Vinaio" - they sell different kinds of pannini πŸ‘ŒπŸ»You say what you want and they create your very own pannini: e.g. truffle sauce, proscuitto, ruccola, melanzani, etc. #bestfastfood #mypannini
Botticelli (1/2/3), Caravaggio (4), Bronzino (5/6) Michealangelo when he was 20 (7) and Co. We also saw two women restaurating a broken vase - impressive!
What a nice view out of the Uffizi! ❀️
On the top of the Uffizi, there is a cafΓ© with a nice and very close view to palazzo vecchio!!
This is actually the first room that was used for one of the first museums of the world, when the Medicci opened the first part, of what they actually created to be an office for municipal administration, to visitors. The roof was made with shells from pearl oyster. 😎⭐️#blingbling
Today we can finally visit the Galeria degli Uffizi! Entry fee is 8€ and 4€ for students.
A quick cafΓ© and cappuco for 2€ - life can be worse β˜•οΈ
Found a nice lively street with a great view to the top of palazzo vecchio. Great leather, coffee shops and bistros with people queuing to get a self-composed pannini.
Today the weather forecast said cloudy and rainy in the evening. Well, let's see 😜 Back in Florence!

5 September 2016

Today we make use of our great grill in the garden. We got some meat, potatoes and tomatoes from Coop and fresh herbs from the surroundings.
The 2011 of Torre A Conas Reserva was rewarded with Bronze at the Decanter World Wine Awards. πŸ‘ŒπŸ» It was fantastic! We will def. bring some to Vienna.
Taking some pics with my ❀️ #pontevecchio #thebetterview
Look what we found! A Magnum Do it yourself Shop. One could choose 3 toppings, type of ice and chocolate! Yummy 😎
Ponte Vecchio and all it's antic jewellery shops! Bianca would like to buy the whole bridge πŸ™ŠπŸ™ˆπŸ’
Il duomo della Santa Maria del fiore solo con (Campanile di) Giotto. 😍 always stunning!
Piazza della Signora with view to Palazzo vecchio. There is a temporary exhibition of Jan Fabre and two of his golden/bronze sculptures are exhibited in public. Amazing πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
Endless scooters πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ
Today we visit Firenze. One of the most beautiful cities I know. We started with this view of ponte vecchio. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
La Galeria degli Uffizi have been closed, because monday is their free day πŸ˜” This was on our list, so unfortunately we had to change our plan...

Stopped by the vineyards of Torre - they mainly grow the grape San Giovese, which is famous for Tuscany. Apparently the summer was not to rainy and the harvest by mid/end of this month will be excellent! πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Found this little guy enjoying the flowers at the pool...
The olive trees of Torre a Cona have already hundreds of olives, but they are still tiny! Looks like a great harvest for this year!
After weeks of work and building up the new journi office in Vienna we finally found some time to relax πŸ˜Žβ˜€οΈπŸŒΈπŸ‰β›± And by the way: the grapes next to the pool taste amazing πŸ‡
Look at all the figs on that tree.
Outdoor breakfast between a fig tree, oleander, rosmary hedges and olive trees. We picked some figs - they taste amazing πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

2 September 2016

Back at Nuovo Ranch for a fantastic dinner! πŸ‘ŒπŸ» This restaurant is really an italian insider tip!
Such a great weather! We just went for a short swim cause it's still warm!
We are back ❀️ Beautiful estate Torre a Cona. We got the apartment Piccolo in Casa Villa.
Due cappuccini πŸ‘ŒπŸ» on the road! Already 35 degrees β˜€οΈ Driving on the new and faster section "Firenze diretissima" for the first time!
We quickly switched cars with Evi in Carinthia. Now we are on the road heading south. β˜€οΈπŸŽ
