St Thomas for Valentines Day, pretty cool. Started with breakfast on Megan's Bay and beach time on our own! And followed by yet another island tour, massage and dinner at Manfredis. Early to rise in the morning for a 10 am flight home.

We went on a little train ride around St Kitts, with Sweet Pea as our tour guide. It rained a bit but not much...we enjoyed being able to see parts of the island only accessible by rail, parts were really beautiful. The local kids always run to greet the train. A fish sandwich in town at Ballahoo and a quick little reminder that Life is Good when you Enjoy the Journey before returning to the ship. After a crew performance of ABBA songs, dinner in the World Cafe.

It's my birthday, so we must be in Phillipsburg, St. Maarten. We skipped out of the island tour and found our way to the boardwalk, where we walked its length before stopping at The Pasanggrahan for a breakfast. Finally got to put my toes in the sand on this trip. We walked back to the boat, getting a few more steps than normal. It was Rat Pack Revisited show before dinner at The Chef's Table. Got a pretty birthday cake too!

Today we are in Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe, called the Butterfly Island for the shape of the island. It is actually a part of France. We went to a local market and Castle Point in Saint Francois with a stop in a black and white cemetery in Morne-a-l'Eau. The cemetery done in predominantly black and white represents hope that black and white people will all get along one day. Dinner at The Restaurant.

Here we are in Bridgetown, Barbados. Starting off badly because Dave beat me (barely) in Scrabble first thing this morning. Then to Harrison's Cave, a cave that was created 160 feet underground as the island was formed. Manfredi's, the Italian restaurant, for dinner.

We didn't see much of Castries, St Lucia. We opted for whale sightseeing aboard a small boat named Free Willy. We certainly did Enjoy the Journey - good thing, because we didn't see any whales. Where's my photoshop?! We did see a couple of dolphins off the side of the boat, spotted first by Susan.

Waking up in Antigua today with an early tour of the island...."just another tough day in paradise". We made several stops, including a fort that looked out over a beautiful bay and Eric Clapton's home. We stopped at Nelson's Dockyard, rum punch included. I bought a coral necklace at Shirley Heights lookout, which might be worth a return visit on a Sunday night when the locals gather for outdoor music and BBQ. Wonder if Clapton comes?!? After lunch at the Harborview Bar and Cafe and a short visit st the local casino, we felt like we had contributed to the local economy and returned to the ship. I had a late afternoon massage. We ate dinner at The Chef's Table, which is a fixed menu meal and was pretty good (for lamb).

Good morning Tortola! Found a cappuccino on board the boat before heading out for a tour of the island of Tortola. We have been here before when we visited Mark and Chris on their sailboat so we saw some of the same things. Dave bought a new shirt like his old one that he bought previously at Pusser's in Soper's Hole. Then the tour guide drove all around the island so got a good overview of the poor economy here. The picture shows two cruise ships in the port, ours is the smaller of the two. We have quite a view from our room, the water is beautiful !
Dinner reservations are at Manfredi's Italian. There was a snafu with reservations and we were placed at a sharing table with 4 others. They were delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed dinner with new friends from San Francisco.

A morning coffee in Puerto Rico almost didn't happen after leaving the boat with no money or credit cards. Back to the boat - Dave got a few extra steps in this morning. After that false start, we wandered around the town, retracing some steps (and memories) from when we were here with the kids in 2000 (?). Got a little rain shower along the way. Ate lunch at a local cafe, Cafe Puerto Rico. Then headed back to the boat, met several people, did the safety briefing and set sail for Tortola, BVI.
First meal we ate on the ship was dinner in the World Cafe - unimpressive. Glad we ate in town as much as we could while we could. But I doubt we will starve on this trip.
Dave found a book in the room, best book he has ever encountered, Letters of Note. He has been so impressed, he has read most of it out loud to me ..."Oh wow - Sue, listen to this....!!!" X 100. Gotta say it is interesting though.

As we woke up, we could see the ship from our hotel room. A local breakfast at a local diner and a walk around the city before we board the Viking Star. After we set up in our room, we went back out in the city for a late lunch. We figured we will get plenty if ship food in the next 10 days-good decision. We had to time it all just right to be back on-board and get a good seat for the Super Bowl watch party. We were both routing for Atlanta ... but gotta admit, that was quite a comeback Tom Brady.

After a very early departure from our home, we arrived in Puerto Rico. We are staying at the Sheraton in Old Town, which is near the fort and the port. Somehow we got upgraded to the Presidential Suite on the top floor. Not quite sure how that happened, but we will take it. Went for a walk around the city and a late lunch, featuring the Puerto Rican specialty of Monfongo (plantain mash formed into a shell and filled with fried pork) and served with rice and beans.
Early to rise, early to bed (haha-I might have that backwards - but true tonight at least for me) 😉
