Sue's tour through French Polynesia

10 May 2018

Catching the water taxi back to the airport.
Last meal?
Ridiculous exchange rates. Wish we’d gotten rid of more coins tho. LAX bureau de change wouldn’t take them. The paper French Polynesian francs are beautiful.

Shark!
Resort & Matira Beach walk
The color of the water is amazing.
Paco on Ray Watch, modeling her flower crown (or is that a kale salad?). Tables near the beach.
Really neat Polynesian night—great buffet of Tahitian & French food and great dancing.

8 May 2018

Good thing we had a big bathroom. And a clothesline for wet swim suits. My flower crown—it was really more like a collar.
One of very few rainy times.

Around the bungalow.
Crazy needle fish. Pretty, but kind of weird.

6 May 2018

Our upper deck. Also had 2 chaise lounges. Lower deck was same as in Moorea, but water here does not have reef, so water is clear to sand bottom.

5 May 2018

Yep, this is the ridiculously beautiful view from Bungalow 15, looking back toward the other bungalows.
WHAT?! The coffee table is made of glass & covers a hole in the bungalow floor. Turns out you can buy fish food for your new fishies friends at the gift shop.
Landed safely on the short Bora Bora airport. Greeted by our Intercontinental LeMoana Bora Bora hostess & grabbed the water shuttle. Shooting over the roof of the water taxi, arriving at the resort.
Yikes. Inter island Air Tahiti. Just hop on!
Paco shows off how big our upper deck was. The lower deck was for climbing into the water & showering off when coming out. We had a small table & chairs here, as well as 2 chaise lounges.

4 May 2018

We walked down to a nearby lunch place. This shot is looking back toward our bungalow. Had some great grilled fish. Also learned fish will eat shrimp pieces. Gross.
My bottle nose friend, Hina.

3 May 2018

Don’t know why I can’t rotate the picture, but I don’t care—this was SO cool! I’ve always loved water, swimming, & dolphins. Super fun. Maybe because I’m a Pisces?
*sigh* so beautiful

2 May 2018

Sunset from the deck. Beyond the buoys is the main reef & open ocean.
Looking toward Bungalow 610 from the main resort area. Other beautiful shots around the resort.
Sergent Major. Saw many of these daily. Parrot fish, another crazy hen.

1 May 2018

Infinity & other pool. Never used them. Who would? The ocean is like 10 steps away!
Chickens. What is it with that in the tropics?
Paco in her rash guard & snorkel. Pretty much the entire trip. It worked for her. Middle shot is dolphin center.
Looking to the left, off the deck, back toward the resort. Very tropical, jungle-like with reef on nearly every inch of the water.

30 April 2018

Paco on Reef Watch on our deck. Awesome fish viewing.
Pretty nice digs! Bungalow 610. Fantastic reef access & sunset views!
Getting on the catamaran ferry to the Intercontinental Moorea
Despite some very weird shuttling across the tarmac at LAX, we did get on the plane, and flew to Tahiti. Whew!

29 April 2018

Air Tahiti Nui, baby!

28 April 2018

My travel pal, Lori Parker, AKA Paco. Here we are at Venice Beach after our day of travel from Madison to Denver to Los Angeles. Paco finds cheap flights.
