South Africa

4 March 2018

Spent some time after my fam & beau left to decompress at an Airbnb in Clovelly, South Africa. Highly recommend as a retreat — I took the time to manage my finances & simply take a breather in nature. The Airbnb that I stayed at is here:

Once my family and beau left, I went hiking on Lion’s Head with a few friends. We hiked up to watch the sunset. It was absolutely stunning.

Took a trip to the Kirstenbosch gardens — the most beautiful garden in the world (in my opinion). We also went out to Stellenbosch to eat at my favorite restaurant, Tokara.
I treated the family to helicopter rides, but only beau wanted to come — so we turned it into a date. We used Cape Town Helicopters and went with the 30 minute scenic ride.

I wanted to take the fam on a drive down Chapman’s Peak. We stopped by Llududno beach & a cute cafe called Veda e Caffè Hout Bay and the beach right next to it. We waited for my parents to join a la Uber, before we caught the sunset at a lookout on the Chapman’s Peak Drive.

Easily the most beautiful & rewarding hike I’ve ever done. And with my favorite person. We booked our guide through Airbnb Experiences & started the hike at 7A — we finished around 11A. So difficult, but so beautiful. We took the India Venster route. Highly recommend. After this hike, we went back to the house, gushed to my parents about its beauty & went to see Black Panther in theaters in the evening.

Always an honor whenever I get the chance to hang out with my brothers, Nathi & Siviwe. They took the fam around Langa — beau even got a haircut! This was one of my favorite days to experience. Feels like home.
