Snowy Paris / Belgium - 2018

20 March 2018

Day 4 First, let’s have breakfast! 🍳 of course at pain quotidien since it’s Belgian. It was delicious as usual 😍 Byebye Bruges. Nest stop: Antwerp. Turns out it’s more a city than a town. It’s charming but definitely not worth spending too much time here. Mandatory stop at Hard Rock Cafe to get the shot glasses and a drink before our next stop, Ghent. Ghent is very charming, not as impressive as Bruges, but more likely to be a small town/coty where we can live. We did the sightseeing like good tourists and then met Eddy for dinner at an Italian place cause I was in the mood for pasta, and I wasn’t disappointed 😊 Tomorrow we’ll drive straight to the airport and go back home. Fini les vacances 🤷🏻‍♀️

Day 3 Good morning snowy Paris ❄️ I guess it snowed all night cause we woke up to a magnificent scenery of Paris covered in snow ⛄️ We drove all the was to Bruges, and finally reached the charming medieval town. Our hotel is a palace of course 👑 , Duke’s palace. It used to be the duke of burgundy’s house 🤷🏻‍♀️ We didn’t waste time and started exploring right away. From the bell tower to the market place, stopping by the blood church, and of course taking breaks for beer, Flemish stew and finally modules et frites. Night cap at the hotel bar be side this is our tradition before calling it a night. I don’t think we know how to take it slow on our vacations 😂

Day 2 First things first, we started by planning our 2-day trip to Belgium and decided to rent the car from today to gain time in the morning. Next stops Bruges, Antwerp, and Ghent. We spent the afternoon shopping at the outlet and of course Milad insisted on passing by Disney. Not sure what got into him but he bought the entire store for the baby 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ It was snowing and we enjoyed the magic of winter in March. Isn’t it supposedly be spring in 3 days? Back to Paris just in time to meet Jackie who’s only 1 day in Paris before going back to DC. We took her and her brother to l’entrecote because she had never been. Unfortunately food was below average, but this didn’t keep us from having a great time catching up. Goodnight Paris 😴

Day 1 Waking-up to snowy Paris ❄️ Definitely not the trip we planned, but since the others cancelled, let’s make the best out of it. We’re barely able to function and spend most of the morning in bed. First stop: Hanoi for delicious Vietnamese food. Joe is joining us. It hasn’t stopped snowing all day so we need to think of indoors activities. Joe took us for desert at Lindt, and Milad couldn’t help himself and went on a crazy chocolate shopping spree 🍫 of course he says he doesn’t eat sweets and doesn’t like chocolate 🤷🏻‍♀️ Next stop galleries La Fayette to meet joe’s friends for a while and try to hide from the very heavy snow. I decided to embrace the weather, bought an umbrella and we’re walking back to the hotel, around 1 hour. Karen met us for a drink in front of the fake chimney (Milad is still complaining about his disappointment with the hotel) and of course a drink turned to more than a bottle 🍷 Now time for chalet Savoyard because Raclette is the perfect choice in th
