Is located about 90 km from Hanoi and about 7km West of the city of Ninh Binh. The river is called Ngo Dong River and is surrounded by karastic rock formations and limestone caves with open patches of rice fields.

Just another day in Hanoi. Sandy and I will were waiting for the local train to run through town but it never came.
After seeing the site we decided to stop at the Center of Scientific and Cultural Activities. Is the center for smart people in the old days.
After breakfast, Sandy and I decided to check out some sites recommended by our hotel. The first stop was at the Tran Quoc Pagoda but couldn’t go in because it was their lunchtime. On our way back we noticed many sellers on their mobile pop up store (their bike) selling flowers.....we were told it was International Women’s Day. Next we stopped to see Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the One Pillar Pagoda. BTW, have to take a picture of this crazy looking chicken that jumped out as we were walking back towards our hotel.
7 March 2018
Finally checked into our hotel and the first thing that Sandy wanted was the famous Hanoi “egg coffee” at the place that started it over 60 years ago. Dinner afterwards at BunChaTa.
Time to leave Nha Trang for Hanoi.
6 March 2018
Relaxed at the hotel and spend some time at the pool and got some sun. BTW, the hotel will charge customers $100us for bringing “questionable” fruits (Durian and Mangosteen) into their room.
5 March 2018
Took a flight from Hue to Saigon and them another flight to Nha Trang. After landing in Nha Trang, Sandy and I took a 35mins taxi ride to our hotel near the sea side resort of Nha Trang. A lot of mainland Chinese and Russian....way too many for our liking.

Hue night market during the weekend next to the perfume river.
Our last site tour at Hue was the Pagoda of the Celestial Lady. The Pagoda of the Celestial Lady is a historic temple in the city of Huế in Vietnam. Its iconic seven-storey pagoda is regarded as the unofficial symbol of the city and is located next to the perfume river toward the end of town.
Next stop was the citadel - The Imperial City is a walled palace within the citadel of the city of Huế, the former imperial capital of Vietnam.
Tu Duc Tomb Visit
City of Hue and our first stop after checking into our hotel was to site see the tomb of Emperor Tu Duc. Emperor Tu Duc enjoyed the longest reign of any monarch of the Nguyen dynasty, ruling from 1848-83. Although he had over a hundred wives and concubines, he didn’t have any children.
Hai Van Gate, which sits at the top of its namesake mountain pass in central Vietnam separating Da Nang City and Thua Thien Hue province. The relic was build in 1862 under the order of Emperor Minh Mang.
Marble Mountains - On our way to Hue our driver stopped at Marble Mountains for us to visit. The mountains are a cluster of five hills made from limestone and marble in Da Nang. Named after the elements metal, wood, water, fire and earth. BTW, paid $15000VND ($1.00 CAD) to take the elevator 1/2 way up the mountain...is well worth it.
