27 October 2016

Ready for Johannesburg! Bye bye Capetown!

25 October 2016

And we are there! It is such a beautiful day. The view is breathtaking. There is actually not much more to say. It was worth waiting in line and get up early for!
Almost in the cableway up...
Getting closer to the register....
Today we left very early to avoid a queue. Apparently we were not the only ones who thought to be cleaver...

23 October 2016

After our nearly death experience and encounter with sharks. We continued our drive to Muizenberg. Our accommodation was beautiful, but certainly not the best. We went out for dinner at Tigers milk. Great place, good food!
It was 07.15am when we drove to the harbour to meet some sharks. Our guide is a little bit weird, but you have to be when you voluntarily face sharks every day. We had a big group (25 people), which was quite big as we expected to be with only 6. It turned out to be an awesome experience. We were at sea for about 10 minutes and we saw our first white shark. After that, they kept coming. 6 sharks were spotted around our boat. Awesome day! And to top that off we saw a ๐Ÿณ. It was so close. Great day!

21 October 2016

Today is the big day! We are going to jump from the Bloukrans bridge of 216 meters high! Crazy!!! Scared but excited! The walk to the jump was already a challenge. Shais was jumper number 2! She was so nervous. Her jump was not pretty. Michel's jump however, picture perfect. The feeling of a free fall is so hard to describe. I (Shais) became calm and so peaceful, but Mies was full of adrenaline. We were heroes that day. It was time for a drink! 9.30am and we were drinking beers, we earned it. And off to our next destination: Mosselbaai, here we come.

20 October 2016

Great day at Stormsriver Mouth. Beautiful day for kayaking and lilo-ing. So that is what we did. We've made a little friend, although I don't think it was mutual๐Ÿ˜ณ. The scenery was gorgeous!

19 October 2016

Our evening got a bit worse. The booking we've made was cancelled and they sent that info to the wrong email address ๐Ÿ˜. So we had to arrange another place to stay which was difficult as it was a busy season! Fortunately, 2 tents were still available for us! Put on the 'braai' and the day was saved. An awesome experience:)
We had a little set back today. There was too little wind at the Map of Africa and too much at Sedgefield. No paragliding for us ๐Ÿ˜”. We did see some amazing scenery though.

18 October 2016

Hildesheim. Not a bad place to start our journey. Our view is breathtaking, groceries are done, the 'braai' is lit up and the temperature is nice what else do you needโค๏ธ.
George, here we are! Super excited to start our travels. First impression: love it, feel right at home. Such a wonderful feeling. This bad boy will become part of the family this week. He will take us where we need to go. First stop: Hildesheim, Wilderness.
Landed safely in JB! We had a good flight, little sleep, a lot of movies and a moody staff ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Temperature update 21 degrees. 2 flights down, still 1 to go. Love the stamp ;)

17 October 2016

Yay ready to go! We have a long trip a head! First a drive fromRotterdam to Hoogvliet. Then 3 flights; Brussels - Madrid, Madrid - Johannesburg and then Johannesburg (JB) - George. We end our trip with a little drive to Wilderness. Traveling time: approximately 24 hours. See you in South Africa xoxo.
Prepping for South Africa ๐Ÿ˜! So much to take with us, but so little space. Fortunately, Shais has become a master in packing! How does she do it ๐Ÿค“
