Seville, Spain

30 May 2018

Today we started at the park and grabbed some yummy smoothies/açai bowls for breakfast! Then we decided to go for a walk and check out down the river - which to be honest was just a mission with the kids in the end! Along the river reminded me a lot of Portugal, lots of colour! For lunch we went to a tapas place which is in the Michelin guide but the service was terrible and the food not great - dam! So we went for a walk to check out the Royal Alcazar but the line was over an hour long. Today the cathedral bells were going off quite a bit and for a long time and we weren’t too sure why! There were also military dressed up! For dinner we had an amazing meal, one of our best! Our last night in Seville! There were heaps of people out and a huge marching band, it was crazy cool! We let the kids play in the park until about 10pm - and it was sooo full with kids - it blew our minds! The noise carried on well into the night, tomorrow is a public holiday in Seville!

Today was all about exploring! First up we walked to the Metropol Parasol (or “mushroom” as the locals call it), which is incredible to see in real life. And there is a park underneath so we stayed longer than we expected! Next up we wandered in to check out the incredible Seville Cathedral - there’s no way to explain how stunning it is, and the size of it, the detail, everything! Amazing. Next was a horse and carriage tour. It was an awesome 45 min tour around some of the sights and through the Parque de Maria Luisa which was stunning - past the Plaza de España and then down the river, past the parliament buildings, the golden tower and back to the cathedral. Amazing! We decided to have lunch and then go back to the gardens as they were so beautiful! Then we hired a row boat and dan rowed us around the water feature of the Plaza de España! Then of course we went back to the park for the kids!

Today we arrived in Seville! Although sooo hectic to get to our apartment it was super central so a good choice, and a parking place right across the road which was perfect. We drove past the park on our way in so once we ditched our gear and sussed the apartment out we walked the 1 min walk to the park - yay for the kids. They had heaps of fun and made friends of course. After that we went for a wee explore. It is a stunningly beautiful city with surprises around each and every corner. There are some amazing buildings. I love all the flowers. Indi convinced daddy to buy her another new dress haha - it’s beautiful. For dinner we ended up at the place right under our apartment which was nice (handy!). The wifi even reached our phones hahaha. The service was pretty average but only because they were understaffed. After dinner we went back to the apartment to chill out and bed for the kiddies. Our apartment isn’t as nice as we thought but it does the trick!
