Greg's Visit to Germany

6 May 2017

Eintracht Frankfurt v. Wolfsburg at the Forrest Stadium in Frankfurt. Great game although Frankfurt lost 2-0.
These are a few pics from Frankfurt today. We walked the main pedestrian area and had lunch. The opera house is absolutely beautiful.

These are a few pics from Ingelheim the other day. Nimmi and I went to the top of the hill to see the town from the top. Also, we were able to see the tigers.
Some additional pictures from Greg's visit - mostly of Frankfurt and the Eintracht soccer match.

Nimmi and I went to the Cistercian Monastery Eberbach today. The monetary was built through the 12th to the 14th centuries. The Basilica is the very large structure with a number of tombstones (larger than us). It was a beautiful place and lunch very good.

We went to the market in Wiesbaden and bought some things for breakfast and dinner today. Nimmi and I also went to learn a bit about German cuisine. We made asparagus soup, white asparagus with hollandaise sauce and steamed potatoes and radishes. We finished with pavlovas with fresh cream and roasted rhubarb.

Visit to Mainz city center

1 May 2017

We drove to Koblenz today along route 42 which took us along the Rhein river the entire journey. Along the way we saw countless castles on either side of the river until we arrived in Koblenz. Once there we took a cable car across to the largest fortress in Europe at Ehrenbreitstein. We toured the fortress and tried some local wine before returning back to then see the Deutches Eck monument of Emporer William I. We ate lunch at a food truck festival they were having near the river and then drove home through the hills.
