Saturday 8october. We caught the fast train to Seville. 250kph. Our hotel Murillo is in a foot only zone. Tiny wee alleyways less than meter wide in places. Eating places outside everywhere. In the Centre of tourist area. Sunday Walked to the main square and saw the huge Giraldo tower with attached church. Very old. Somehow we missed the cathedrals but were told the queues were very long. It is the third biggest cathedral in Europe. Met our travel mates and went out to dinner together.
Monday 10/10. Left at 0900 to have four hour walk around old Seville. Absolutely massive parks full of really old trees. Walked through the Cigarette Factory which is now a university. They used to bring sheets of tobacco over from the Indies and the girls used to roll cigarettes for sale. Smoking was very much 'in' then. The Opera Carmen was also based at this place. Then to Alcazar. Absolutely massive grounds, gardens and buildings all built up to 900 years ago.
