Happy that Liverpool had won, we had breakfast in the sunshine and set off for the Malverns. We parked up below the Beacon and met our walking friends. Off to the top - glorious sunshine and fine views across the West Midlands, north to the Clee Hills, south west to the Black Mountain and Breacon Beacons and south to the Cotswold ridge. We walked most of the Malvern ridge, Jubilee Hill, Perseverence Hill and on to the Worcestershire Beacon. We came down into Great Malvern to the Foley Arms Hotel for lunch. Can you believe draught beer for £1.99 and a bottle of prosecco for £10.99. Pigged out on burger fish and chips (about £8 each), then had two apple crumbles for just £5!!! Ambled home but have a water pump problem in the van - job for tomorrow.

Hat is away again! Sun was out so we decided to visit Pembridge in Herefordshire to see the Westernbury Mill Water gardens. They were really good. Built by a novice gardener they were really quirky. Saw 4 brand new Morgan Cars there too! Drove on to Ledbury, Sussed the BT footy then went onto our site 2 miles outside. Sat in the sun, had chilli and went back to the pub to see us scrape through! Now to bed.

On our way over to Bill and Sandra's the off to meet Frank & Julia at the coast. Decided to give my vintage cap a runout- hence the blog title. We stopped over at a sweet little site in Medbourne near Market Harborough. Went for a walk in the Welland Valley and over the hill to Neville Holt. This beautiful village has a privately owned estate - boss of Carphone Warehouse - once owned by the Cunard family. Dropped down to the local pub and then cooked dinner. Pretty good day.
