Patty's tour through Italy

28 May 2017

We spent our last 2days in Rome. Soo much to see so little time. The highlight was going to St Peter's square and seeing and hearing the pope send a blessing upon us. The Basilica was enormously beautiful. Our very last tour was of roman catacombs and crypts. We walked to our feet were about to fall off but then you drink the vino and forget your feet hurt. Feeling grateful for this unbelievable vacation to ITALIA! I know I will be back for more someday!!!!

What a BIRTHDAY! 51. Who would have known a year agothis awesome trip to these beautiful Italian cities would be possible. Today , friday, we day tripped to Lucca and walked the city wall, and Pisa for some great creative pics. Our last Pool Afternoon was hot with entertainment provided by Greg and Fricthal. While the rest of us watched poolside. Dinner was brick stone pizza. Every flavor imagineable. Tuna, bluecheese, sausage, yummmmm. And of course pizza fruit dessert. Thx all for the BEST BDAY!! Ciao VILLA LA CASEINE

Thursday was ADVENTURE day.. we started out towards a small family winery about an hour away. After some Delta Dawn and Urban Cowboy song singing, bus squeezing through 2 brick wall roads, 2 hrs later we stopped to get " better directions". The vinyards themselves were worth the ride not to mention the WINE TASTING served with cold cuts, olive oil and brusKETA! Poured by PAPA

Wednesday was an unexpected learning day. i am NOT a BIG ARTSY/ history buff but I really found the statue of David vs Goliath , the Arno River, and the Duomo quite appealing. A Surprise dinner atop Montcatini Alto was the icing on the cake for today. I seeioisly love this food but I am NOT eating tomorrow!!!! Lights out Montcantini

Tuesday was a gorgeous morning to run through the countryside and drink mimosas by the pool. The hot sun had us diving in before long. Our afternoon was unbelievably cool learning to cook brusKETA. Pasta out of flour and egg, meatballs and tiramisu from our Italian chef and crew! Words do not describe how lucky I am to be here with this amazing group!!

We spent our Monday in Siena Italy. St Catherine is highly idolized here where they display her head and thumb in the church. No pics allowed. The town has a massive wall around it that incorporates 17 different districts. We then saw the hilltop town of San Gimignano with beautiful 360 views. Chef Eliza made amazing pasta bolognese and pork tenderloin. The wind picked up outside and chased all of us in with our wine bottles in for some loud, crazy fun Karoke on our non wifi loaded phones. Gnite John Denver, And Abba.
