Oscar's journi to United States of America

14 September 2017

The next day we drove to Hoover dam which is a huge dam that helps sustain the Colorado river. We spent a few hours at Hoover dam then drove to Las Vegas that's we I am now I will update you soon.
We stayed a night in Cortez and then drove to a place called the four corners monument which is one of the only places in the world where you can be in four states at once. We spent about an hour at four corners and then drove for 3 hours to Grand Canyon. That afternoon we did a walk around the rim and saw some amazing views into the canyon then we went and saw the sunset and that was really fun. The next morning we woke up at 5:00am because we where doing a hike into the canyon and we got advice to go early because of heat. We walked about 250 metres into the canyon and to go down that far was a 2 kilometre walk, that was really fun but what wasn't fun was getting back up. Then when we eventually got back up we caught a bus to Hermets rest where where we got something to eat then we caught a bus back to a view point of the Grand Canyon and then walked to another view point. Then we drove back to our hotel and packed up then crave to Kingman. We spent a night in Kingman.

Then we caught a bus back to Durango and drove about an hour to Cortez which is where we are now.
Then we drove 5 hours to a place in Colorado called Durango where we went on steam train ride because apparently Colorado is one of the most picturesque places in the USA it was supposed to be 3 and a half hours but we had to stop because we caused a few fires from the cinders in the smoke and there was also track repairs so it ended up 5 hours. Then we stopped in a place called silver town and it is 9318 feet (2800 metres) and the train conductor said there is only about 30 days in a year when it is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit which is there freezing point which 0 degrees for us.
Then we drove out from the ranch the next morning, we drove about 900 kilometres which took 11 and a half hours which was so boring, then we arrived in Santa Fe in New Mexico and saw a fiesta and a pet parade.
The next day at the ranch we went horse riding for and my sisters got lead by the owner and a cowgirl. Me, my dad and my mum got to ride with no one and we rode for like an hour around the whole ranch. Then we went quad riding I wasn't allowed to drive but us kids had to sit on the back of the adults and I got to go on the back of the ranch owners quad and she said it was the best quad they had and because I was on the back of the professionals quad I got to do really fun awesome stuff that my mum and dad were to scared to do.
Then we left San Antonio and drove about five hours to a ranch. We got there at about 5:00 in the afternoon and the owner cooked us dinner which was really delicious and then she offered if we wanted s'mores and we obviously said yes. S'mores are 2 biscuits with a roasted marshmallow and a piece of chocolate in between the biscuits and the marshmallow melts the chocolate and it is delicious.

Then we landed and had another plane ride to San Antonio that took about an hour and the when we landed we had Australian friends that moved to the USA picked us up from the airport and now we're staying with them for a week and this photo is our room
The other day we had a fifteen hour flight to a place called Dallas and the flight was so boring everyone around me was throwing up because on our flight there was bad turbulence that lasted for about 2 hours. Turbulence means the plane is shaking and there's a lot of bumps that make you feel sick. Luckily I didn't throw up the whole flight but my sister and my mum did.
