North Yorkshire.... A Motorhome Trip

12 September 2018

Great trip in the Motorhome to North Yorkshire with Douglas and Bella the dog.... who knew that there was such beauty in the area, certainly not me! I had always wanted to see Staithes and it did not disappoint. The biggest surprise for me was Whitby, a lovely typical English seaside town with history, great beach huts and an amazing Abbey. We stayed at a lovely wee campsite called Serenity right in the centre of the village of Hinderwell. It was dog friendly with great walks from the campsite, a bus stop across the road, a fish and chip shop, butcher, small well stocked village shop/cafe and a couple of pubs that sold food and were also dog friendly.... perfect! The Badger Hounds had just been refurbished and was opening on the Friday so we had a couple of days to wait. Two friendly guys run the pub and although there were a few teething issues, the service was good, the pub was busy, Bella was made very welcome and they had a good range of beer and wine.....happy customers!
Anything for a biscuit!
Robin Hoods Bay......stunning and very busy. It’s the end of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk and weary travellers are in need of a few pints....

Great walks along The Cleveland Way....Bella had a new playground, with beautiful village to discover along the way. Staithes was one of our favourites.
Runswick was another lovely spot with a cafe to rest your weary legs for the climb back up a very steep hill.....just as well there was a pub at the top to get a small refreshment!

Great views of the Abbey and the colourful beach huts.... I think the guys said that they have 180 huts.
Whitby was a big surprise as we had no idea that it was so pretty and with fantastic beach huts.
