Day 9: Croatia. After the cooking class students were able to explore Zagreb. They also took a guided tour of the city to learn it's history. It was a great way to end a fantastic trip!
Day 9: Croatia. Students started the day visiting a Croatian cheese farm and then traveled into the capital Zagreb where they took a cooking class to make traditional Croatian food. It was a great experience for all and the food was delicious!

Day 8: Croatia. Students toured a national park in Crotia where they got to walk through the park to view incredible views and sights. The tour ended with a boat ride down one of the lakes to our hotel which was in the park.

Day 7: Slovenia. After touring Ljubljana students drove up into the Slovenian Alps for a truly unique experience. They toured an organic farm and had a wondeful time seeing the scenic views, the animals and trying the delicious homemade products. A memorable time was had by all!
Day 7: Ljubljana. Students took a guided walking tour of Slovenia's capital Ljubljana. After this they toured the Moore's, a farmed marsh. In the evenjng students were able to return to visit the city at night and enjoy dessert in a street cafe.

Day 6: Today we traveled from Italy to Slovenia. Along the way we stopped at a prosciutto farm and had a tasting. After that we spent time on the beach along the Adriatic Sea in the quaint town of Grado. We arrived in Slovenia in the evening.

Day 5: Venice. Students took a tour of the incredible Doge's Palace. While there we had to get a picture with one of the palace knights! The day ended with a relaxing gondola ride through the canals of Venice. It was a busy but very enjoyable day!
Day 5: Venice. Students took a water taxi to Venice to explore the city for the day. The day began with a guided tour from a native Venecian who gave us insights into everyday life in Venice. This was followed by a glass blowing demonstration and then experiencing St. Mark's square where students were given a market challenge and walked through the cathedral.

Day 4: Verona. Students spent a great afternoon touring the ancient town of Verona. We saw a colosseum, the cathedral, walked to the top of the castle for a spectacular aerial view of the city, saw Juliet's balcony and enjoyed lunch at a small cafe.
Day 4: Tour of a rice farm on our way to Verona. Students were able to see the fields and learn about rice production.

Day 3: Students attended the second day of the Global Leadership Summit in Milan. In small groups of 10, projects were developed to address some aspect of global food sustainability. The day was filled with creativity, innovation and fun! Students were able to see the winning project and then heard from world famous chef Anthony Bourdain. The night ended with a dinner party at the Villa Bartolomeo. The summit was a truly great experience for all!

Day 2: Guest speakers, workshops and professional development offered at the summit. A multitude of issues and topics related to food, technology, culture, health and wellness, environment and economics offered. Intense but enlightening day for all!
Day 2: Students attended Global Leadership Summit with students from all over the world. They began working on their design thinking project connected to the issue of healthy, sustainable food. The winning project will be displayed at the Nobel Museum in Stockholm.

Day 1: Arrived in Milan, Italy. Began our trip with a walking tour with some of the highlights being the Sforza Castle, the Duomo and the Galleria. We ended the day by attending the introduction for the Global Summit at the Mico Center.
