Visit of Darwin
Because of the jet leg I woke up at 4pm and could't sleep much afterwards. Anyway we had a nice buffet breakfast at the Double Tree by Hilton on the terrace at the pool.
Our first stop today was the Museum and Art Gallery of Northrrn Territory. The museum gives s great insight of the flora and fauna of the region. Furthermore there was a very interesting section about the cyclone Tracy.

We then headed for the second, only 4.5 hours flight with SilkAir to Darwin. No on board entertainment which was good, as we felt asleep quickly. The arrival was sooo easy and quick, we got our luggage in no time and the rental car arrangements were easy. By 3:30 (one hour after we landed) we were checking already in at the Double Tree Hilton on the Esplanade.
In the evening we went Stokes Hill Wharf for diner, an open space restaurant and I had a Laksa.

After long months of research, planning and waiting, the day of departure finally approached.
We left Milan on a Thursday at 1pm on the SQ377 on Airbus350 with Singapore Airlines. Even in economy the seats were large and confortable. The 12 hours to Singapore passed quickly, first I watched Hidden Figures, second Patriot's day and last Logan. Then I lay below the seats for a few hours to lay horizontally and leave two seats to Julien. In Singapore we only had a short 1.5 hours stop-over, enough for a quick stop at Starbucks.

At 9:40pm we went out in the dark with the dhoni away from the lights of the Island. Nura leaded a stargaze meditation, what a wonderful experience. Bubbles on the jetty to round up the evening and sitting together on the beach until past midnight.
Stargazing meditation on the Dhoni

Last 7am meditation with the so matching theme Gratitude. It was just Nura and me.
Breakfast at 8am on the terrace.
At 9am 45 minutes boat drive to the dive site Maafaru Corner. An amazing dive, eagle rays, a grey sharks and countless white tip sharks of all sizes. It was the first dive with Julien together on the boat. We were lucky to stay for 45 minutes with 5 Mantas at the cleaning station. Julien saw 3 of them. Two more joined after he had left. We did a maximum time dive of 70 minutes!!!! Fantastic, a great dive to finish.
We had a lunch appointment with Miriam & family from Milan. We met them years ago, just like Dudan and John from Irland. They love to travel like us and we catched up on the latest trips.
In the afternoon we went for a long snorkeling with Renato and Clelia departing from their villa number 2. I found again the Octopus in front of villa number 1, the lobster were still in the same cave but too deep. Diving check out and Maldivian garden dine

Yoga at 8am, I usually get up 15 minutes earlier and by the time we finish I'm really awake. The body softly wakes up with all the stretches.
I then brought Julien to the beach for his next dive lesson, he did already the written exam yesterday and made 41/50, great result.
By 9:15 breakfast for Stefano and me arrived on the terrace.
11:00 diving at Thudufushi Thila. As usual a great dive with sharks and a Manta.
Snorkeling again in the afternoon.
Diner with the Stars here in Thudufushi with the Belgian chef Samuel Van Houcke. Delicious.

Soo nice to be back on Athuruga, the common aereas are nicer and I loved it beeing less lit up, too many lights in Thudufushi.
The 20 Minutes ride by speedboat was nice and smooth. Snorkeling was exiting with lots of sharks and a different type of long thinner cucumber. On the beach, in the shalllow water we spotted 8 baby sharks, soo sweet!!!!
Diner with the Stars hosted Santiago Torrijos with Columbian origins living and working in France. He has the restaurant 'Atelier Rodier' in Paris.
The chef guaranteed an unforgettable evening in Athuruga where we went with Minnie, Paolo, Clelia and Renato.

7pm morning sunrise meditation with wonderful Nura. She did a water element meditation, the sea calming after a storm, letting go of the thoughts while the sand is sinking to the ground and settling down, getting all calm.
Breakfast on the beach was next with Emanuele and Julien.
Then Julien had another lesson from the jetty doing exercises. Unfortunately he panicked during an exercise while taking out the mouthpiece and swallowed too much salty water. He wanted to get up and after 10 minutes had to throw up feeding the fishes below the jetty. Later Christina, the doctor, came to the room to fleck on him, but everything was fine.
After the Tapernaki lunch on the beach, he fully recovered and spent the afternoon and evening with his friends, jumping from the jetty and doing the golf competition on the beach.
While we went by speedboat to Athuruga for the JRE dining under the stars diner, Julien stayed in Thudufushi and went fishing after diner.

If I would have to describe the day with one word the word would be snorkling. 2.5 hours in the morning and another hour in the afternoon. New entries today were the eagle ray and the sting ray, of course turtles, sharks, morays and the giant grouper enter the scene as well, beautiful. I feel so free and balanced in the water, no thoughts coming up. Maybe I should try meditation while snorkeling.
Yoga at 8 am, in the morning we always concentrate on one specific pose.
At lunch we Sarah invited us to the main restaurant for a special Maldivian lunch. Delicious!!
And Yoga again at 6pm

No breakfast? We slept until 7:45 and got right up for diving. The first dive two days ago was at Thudufushi Thila. Today we went to Shark Thila. Two hours to go and the same returning. It was a big disappointing as we went so far and didn't see more than two black tip sharks. The other group saw grey sharks. Nevertheless we encountered a turtle, some morays, a nudi branch, a huge grouper and a shrimp.
Snorkeling in the afternoon was as god as the dive in the morning.
Yoga at 6pm as usual.

In the evening we had an awesome Easter buffet on the beach prepared by chef Giacomo, words can't describe what he prepares. I'll add pictures that speak for themselves.
We then worked out... dancing on the beach until
1:30am. Julien came home shortly after us, for the first time by himself.

Easter in Thudufushi
I got up for the 7 pm sunrise meditation, what a great way to start a day in Paradise. And it was only four yogis attending!!! A carrot juice rounded our practice up this morning.
It's so relaxing having breakfast served on the OW terrace. A fresh breeze touching our skin and only steps away from the Indian Ocean.
I decided not yo dive this morning and relaxed on our terrace, Julien doing some homework and reading his brand new Padi Open Water Dive book. He made up his mind and is starting his course today. We had then lunch with Minnie, Paolo, Renato and his wife on the beach.
In the afternoon we headed for the Easter excursion to Innufushi, the tiny island next to Thudufushi. We went. Going by speedboat and returning by Dhoni. The island belongs at the moment to the company Saegul and there is a small construction in the middle of the island. I guess some guards stay on the island. Snorkeling wasn't great, lots of deaf coral, 31.2 water tempe

What a great way to wake up, Yoga at 8 and breakfast on the terrace at 9. First fantastic dive at 11. We saw it all, Mantas, turtle, black tip and grey sharks, eagle rays...
Late lunch at the OW restaurant.
Snorkling in the afternoon, sunset Yoga and diner at the OW restaurant.

We are so happy to be able to spent Easter again on beautiful Thudufushi. And... Nura will be there with her family and will offer her special Easter Yoga Program.
What a great feeling getting up early knowing that we are flying this afternoon to the Maldives. I brought Julien to school and stop for an hour at the office and offered them croissants. The morning passed quickly getting packed and ready. Stefano picked up Julien after work at 12:30 and by 15:00 we were at the airport in Malpensa. Our flight left on schedule at 16:50 and I enjoyed watching "Keep up with the Jonses", "The accountant" (As a math savant uncooks the books for a new client, the Treasury Department closes in on his activities and the body count starts to rise)and "Lion" (The 5 year old Saroo gets lost on a train in India which takes him thousands if miles across India, away from home and family. Saroo must learn how to survive alone in Kolkata before being adopted by an Australian couple).
