We 💗 KL
Another day exploring this city. We walked for miles, through the park and past some cultural must sees.
At night we treated ourselves to a posh Indian meal before heading to the towers for one last time to see them in all their glory!

Petronas Twin Towers, KL
Later on we visited the iconic towers in Kuala Lumpur. We had a little snack picnic in the gardens looking out onto the water with the backdrop of the towers. The architecture and setting is stunning, a very peaceful place to relax.
We then ventured through the malls to get ourselves into the Christmas Spirit.
For the record, a couple of the pics are random but I had to get a picture of the tiniest cucumber I have ever seen! 😂
Today Jack took me in search of his beloved sporting stadiums. This wasn't as straight forward as expected since the grounds were all locked up surrounded by construction.
After taking us on a dodgy route through some boarded area he finally found an entrance to the football stadium. Jack managed to get the security guard to let us in which allowed us to look at the stadium close up.
We also visited the Olympic stadium but unfortunately there was no way of us getting into that. Jacks tour then took us past the Menara tower which dominates the KL skyline, looking down upon the twin towers due to its positioning atop of a hill. All in all a good exploration of the city by foot!

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This afternoon we arrived in Kuala Lumpur and explored China town and the central market area.
The skyline is beautiful, particularly from this rooftop bar at night ☺️👌

Exploring street art (continued).
Penang have placed large wire sculptures around the city to depict what the street/area resembles. We went on our own little tour of the city, map in hand, to give ourselves a little history lesson.
After we finished exploring we sat outside a bar on one of the busy side streets to watch the hustle and bustle whilst listening to some nearby buskers ☺️
Exploring the street art!
I loved getting lost around the side streets of Penang in search of the street art that's dotted around.
Some of the artwork used a mix of painting and 3D sculpture which gave it such a unique feel. We were very impressed by some of the paintings we stumbled across.
The day began visiting 'Penang Times Square' with a spot of breakfast and shopping in the fancy malls.
Getting to and from the malls was a bit of a walk from our hotel so took a few snaps of our journey along the way.
16 December 2016
Today consisted of a full 15 hours of travel. First a boat then a cramped and stuffy minibus for 12 hours, this wasn't the best way to cure our booze cruise hangovers but at least we made it across the Thailand-Malaysia border smoothly.
We arrived at Penang for 11pm, found ourselves a place to stay and thankfully found a Mac Donald's so that we could have a quick bite to eat before bed.
Whilst in search for Mac Donald's we were both excited to finally find Christmas!!! The shopping malls are all decked out, something we haven't seen so far this year. We're sleepy but looking forward to a day of exploring the city tomorrow.
