New Year, New York

3 January 2019

Today was a little excursion to Brewster NY to visit Rima. I had a super frustrating moment, when I missed my first train from Grand Central station due to a communication error, where the ticket lady communicated the wrong track to me. But, I got on the next train in an hour, and had some time to explore the station . Rima and I had a classic China tribute, with soup dumplings, duck Bao sandwiches, shopping and pedicures. Seeing the views from the train was worth the 30.00 round trip ticket. What a nice visit!

Just about to take a tour of the United Nations... I think I should count this as a work trip!

For news yearai went to a party at a Liverpool pub on 39th Street. They advertised on bar from 7-8pm and free appetizers from 7-9. I got two free drinks and zero appies. But still worth it in the end, chit chatted with some really nice peeps, and got a dry warm place to hide from the rain. Love the murals, a true Rembrandt was here! Also, a cute pic of me with my coat check ticket. Packing a rain jacket was a split last second decision. So glad I did!
I checked into my air b and b, and then went in search of dinner. Along the way I found d pizza and realized that it was quite the hike to times square. I extended my dinner walk to just be the pre gaming for the evening. It turned into quite the walk! Some interesting key points: - meeting some new friends at Carragher's, including the desk clerk at the hotel I am staying at later in my visit - chatting with the Indian from Dubai at the barricade gate, and want to be actor - I bought a cd from a would be r and b artist??? Just a donation, okay, I'll give you 5$, okay, I'll take the singles too, no, those are for coat check - meeting Danielle and Joey from Boston. -
How's the pizza? The best I've ever had in New York! Really? Well, it's the only pizza I've had, but it was still really good! I enjoyed my pizza in solitude for a couple bites, then I was joined by a family of 6 (parents, 2 kids and an uncle) from LA. The kids were great, super inquisitive and fun. It was nice to enjoy some New York style pizza with other guests to the city!
It's so early! And I was too excited to get back to sleep once my phone notifications started going g off at 2 am (thanks to James and Aki). I plan on sleeping on the planeđź’¤
