Two nights in Mumbai, India 2017

23 August 2017

After arriving back on the mainland via boat, I made a quick final stop to take a picture of the Gateway of India before leaving for the airport 📸🛫😢
On the last morning, I got up early to visit the ancient Elephanta Caves, on an island called Gharapuri. A guide who'd been born and bred there showed me around, plus we shared a few drinks (a few too many really!🍺).

Nightlife isn't always easy in Chennai, or in India in general really. But my friend Brandon suggested this hotel bar called The Stables to me and it fitted perfect into my route back to the Renaissance. The food was awesome and it was happy hour! 🙈🍺
I noticed there was a football match between African side Mauritius and Saint Kitts & Nevis from the Caribbean the week before coming. As an avid sports fan, anything to visit a stadium !! 🏟 ⚽ 2017 Hero Tri-Nation Series 🇲🇺 Mauritius 1-1 Saint Kitts and Nevis 🇰🇳 📍 Mumbai Football Arena 🇮🇳 | 17:30 === KO === 1-0 Jean Sarah (19') === HT === 1-1 Kimaree Rogers (87') === FT ===
After a scenic drive across the Bandra-Worli sea link, I did another beach stop in Juhu. Had a proper India moment here: this random dude offered to take a pic of me, I declined, so then he said cameras aren't allowed 👌😂 Love this country 💙
Next stop after a drive northwesterly was Chowpatty Beach along Marine Drive. A lot more noticeable couples in public than back home in Chennai (where it's frowned upon). Young people here aren't worried about holding hands or kissing, etc 👫⛱
My first stop this morning was down in the deep end of the peninsula to see the busy Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus train station 🚋

Today I arrived in Mumbai for the first time and my accommodation is the fancy Renaissance Hotel with my dad, who's here for work. The Powai Lake view from our room is a visionary beaut 😍🏞
