Natalie's tour through England, United Kin...

20 December 2016

We went to the York Dungeons (similar to a haunted house) then to lunch and then to the train. We arrived in London and walked around for a bit before a ride on the London Eye. I've never seen anything more beautiful.
Train up to York today to meet up with Thomas and Amie. We walked around York and saw the same cathedral 4 times...needless to say Thomas got a little lost. Then off to The Great Gatsby which was amazing!! Thomas played Tom Beaucannon and Amie was Daisy.

We had 2 delays on takeoff; one for fuel and one because some automatic thing on the engine didn't go automatically...that's only a little bit terrifying but we made it off the ground alright. There has been quite a bit of turbulence because of how awful the weather is and the fastened seatbelt sign stayed on for the duration of he flight. Nothing better to take my mind off of that than a great book and some Netflix (Megyn Kelly's "Settle for More" and the Netflix original "The Crown" come highly recommended by me). I hardly slept at real surprise there. I can never sleep on flights, especially this one since I'm so excited!
We're officially off! I've been counting down the days to this trip for what seems like forever. After arriving in Chicago late last night because of a giant snow storm and passing out almost immediately upon arrival to the hotel, I'm so ready to go. It has been 11 years since I have seen these people and I couldn't be more different than I was 11 years ago. I have transformed from a shy 7 year old girl who refused to say a word to a very outspoken, driven and passionate young woman. I am somewhat nervous to see them all again. What will they think of me? Will I be what they are expecting? What if I'm not good enough? Plenty of time before I have to figure that out though. I'm so excited to be going back. This amazing place has been the beginning of so much for me including my obsessions with Harry Potter, tea, teacups, travel and misspelling grey (or is it gray). I can't wait to see everyone! I've missed them so much.
