MSU soccer teamโ€™s voyage in Costa Rica

6 March 2018

Made it to the rainforest!!!! There are iguanas, crocodiles, geckos, and other little reptiles everywhere! There is also a horse stable right across the street from our rooms. This place is SO beautiful. We went to the hot springs last night and that was so much fun, bodied of water that are heated up by the volcano that is a couple miles away. Today we are going to the waterfalls!!! Canโ€™t wait!
Some beautiful paintings ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽจ
Soccer game!!!! Won 2-0

Such an awesome time hanging with these kiddos in San Jose! Nothing but big smiles and lots of love! Such an incredible experience ๐ŸŒบโค๏ธ #puravida
An absolutely amazing experience today. Being able to play with these kids for only an hour, but still so eye-opening. This center provides food and shelter for families in need and they are doing an amazing job. We are so blessed to be able to play with them and see their happy faces! Also saw some kittens and dogs too ๐Ÿ™‚

Some pictures of the food we have been eating. We also beat a professional Costa Rica soccer team 6-1. We have our second game tonight!
Team pictures!!
Touring the city of San Jose. So many amazing national monuments that we were able to see.
Pictures from the farmers market yesterday!!! Tried so many different types of fruit ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‰
1st breakfast of the trip was delicious. Costa Ricaโ€˜s famous dish of rice and beans (served at nearly every meal), eggs, and some amazing fresh fruit. Their pineapple is amazing, so sweet. Costa Rica is also well known for their coffee, so I tried that this morning and it is very good!!! Off to the farmers market now.

We have arrived at the hotel! It is absolutely beautiful. The pool looks amazing and we canโ€™t wait to swim in it tomorrow.
And here is our first โ€œrealโ€ meal in Costa Rica. The juice is amazing. Freshly squeezed watermelon juice and freshly squeezed cantaloupe juice. It literally tastes like you are drinking straight out of a watermelon ๐Ÿ˜ for dinner we ate bread, salad, pasta salad, pineapple, mashed potatoes, veggies, and chicken/fish. It was all cooked perfectly and tasted so good after a long bus ride. For dessert we had the most amazing flan EVER ๐Ÿ˜‹ personally, I had 5 of them. At dinner we had a little presentation to learn more about Costa Rica and the history/geography of it. Tomorrow should be really fun!! We are going to the farmers market, flee market, touring the city of San Jose, and we have our first game โšฝ๏ธ๐ŸŒ‡๐Ÿฐ
Getting off the plane! It was in the high 80โ€™s when we landed in Liberia. Just got off a 5 hour plane ride and now have to get on a bus for 4 hours. Our tour guides greeted us with subway and the bus was actually really nice. Our tour guides are girls and they are at our service 24/7, they are awesome! It was really interesting looking out the window of the bus and seeing all of the houses and neighborhood of the cities. The houses are more like little shacks and are very crowded together. The driving is VERY crazy here! There is little to no lights, signs, or anything. We got honked at multiple times and there are little mopeds the cruise around all the big cars. We got stuck in traffic to soon realize that it was a group of cows that were stopping us ๐Ÿ˜‚ canโ€™t wait to get to the hotel!!!
Started with a view of snow from the plane and now look at our view. Canโ€™t wait to see more of this beautiful country!!!
Costa Rica here we come โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ›ซโ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ
Got through security really quickly.. now waiting two hours till we take off โœˆ๏ธโœˆ๏ธ
In Eagan, Minnesota!!! Taking off tomorrow at 7:15 am to go to Costa Rica. Had practice from 9:30-11:30 tonight... So tired, should be a long day tomorrow. 6 hour flight and then 4 hour bus ride.
