Dongdaemun Design Plaza & Park by architect Zaha Hadid was completed in 2013 and is now a showcase of Korean design. It’s a curvaceous concreate structure that today shines in the morning light.
Old and new Seoul. The hanoks , traditional Korean house first designed in 14th century during the Joseon dynasty, rapidly disappeared in booming Seoul, replaced by skyscrapers and modern architecture. However, in the last decade most of the surviving hanoks have been converted in restaurants and guesthouses. Walk in Bukchon and Itaewon and you are likely to see many.
