So we went on the Jewish tour today, very interesting, went into the synagogue and Micil wore a hat( can't remember the name of it). Found some knitted pumpkins in a window... then we met an old Jewish man when we were having lunch...he liked the bag I bought with the Yiddish alphabet ... and he wanted one...he said he was polish and lives in Germany. The chairs in the square are representative of the 60,000 Jews that were removed from the area. Why chairs? Because that's all that was left when the Jews were sent off... they face south because it's where Auschwitz is. We were outside Schindlers factory in the Podgorze district.
Polish graffiti.. the bell represents pope John Paul II talking to the people...everyone listens to him...lovers locks on the bridge... some real pumpkins ...Inside the synagogue and a Christian church... very ornate... being restored.
Dinner yesterday and some Polish food we noticed today washed down with Polish beer...

What we got up to today ... we took the free tour of The old town ... very good. We learned about old vodka bars, the Trumpetor in St Mary's bascilica, the wavel castle, the dragon, Then we ate zapiekanka for lunch in the Jewish quarter. Feeling tired so we came home for a break before dinner. We are planning on hunters stew (Bigos) and some pierogi(dumplings sweet and savoury) for dinner.

We arrived here yesterday and guess what it was raining. Bought an umbrella. Staying in quirky top floor flat ...lots of stairs. Found a Wodka bar! Can you read the fire exit sign! A view of St Mary's Bascilica .. beautiful inside but not allowed to take pictures.
