Skipness lovely although yet another windy potholed single track road to get there. Wonderful day, sparkling sea to Arran.
Skipness castle, glades of bluebells under the trees, scent of wild garlic in the air.

After getting back to hotel yesterday realized there was more to the walk I did yesterday do I drive to road end then took the track by foot. Word my Keens then once I got to the moor track towards beach realized should have worn boots as was very boggy and mucky. Lovely secluded wee beach at end of track. After drove along coastal road stopped at beaches made famous in Local Hero movie . On to Mallaig where nothing to do until ferry.

Much better weather today, went to the wee museum and got advice on easy walks in the area. Took a walk out the road to Rhu, lovely walk along the coast. Besotted by the old trees here and in Carradale, growing up with the gales in the islands never had many trees like these. A screenwriter or novelist should really get their teeth into the history of SOE in the area. Odette was trained here before being dropped into France as were many others including Czechs and Norwegians most of who died in camps after being captured. The entire area was closed off during war to train special ops.

Welcome coal fire at end of dreich road to the isles in the driving rain. Ferry cancelled for next 2 days so taking opportunity to get to know the Arisaig, Morar area. Looks stunning so far from what I can see through rainy mist.
