Lizz's journi to Belize

7 September 2017

Final days on the island! Nick swallowed a conchs dick (not knowing beforehand so is claimed) so naturally his first catch of the day is a slippery dick fish. Then followed by a couple baby red snappers we later fed to the sharks on the reef reserve! Thanks to Benedict for a great day on the reef with our little white boy 😘

First day on island of paradise, Caye Caulker. After 45 minute water taxi from Belize City our beachfront cottage and hammocks awaited us and a quick dip off the dock. Since there are no cars allowed on the island everyone bikes or takes the golf cart taxis.

Our place for Placencia was designed after Spanish architect Gaudi, but felt straight out of a Dr. Suess book! Rather quiet spot during the off season, felt a bit out of place.

Our jungle bungalow outside of San Ignacio! After the stressful treck to the outskirts in the dark without a phone down 10 miles of dirt road, we found DuPlooy's and as the only ones on property they welcomed us with a rum punch and a friendly little scorpion on the canopy pathway back home.
