You know you have found the best food in town when its the local's secret. If you're ever in Puerto Viejo you MUST have a Rice and Beans. Simple. So, this time around, since my Caribbean tips and tricks were a bit rusty because it had been some time since my last visit, I decide to ask our (a-mazing) AirBnB host. She then told us that it just so happened to be her neighbor. She was the town's secret, and happens to cook one time a week (the next day) and sell for about 4 hours or until the food runs out, and how she prepares everything from scratch (even the coconut milk, no joke!). Long story short, after hearing kitchen prep sounds during the rest of the day and getting the most delicious smells, we decided to fix our schedules to ensure we were there for lunch. Ended up knocking her door, greeting the neighbors and eating with them in the porch of their home. BEST and favorite eating experience in a long time - if not ever! Talk about genuine experiences...

Santa Teresa: my favorite place in the world. Santa Teresa is carefree lifestyle mixed with the amazing tropical nature, rough roads and beautiful sandy beaches. Amazing sunsets stretch trough it's km beaches.
