One day till New Years and 2017. What a year it has been. Recap. Starting very challenging with all the struggles from the failing knee surgery, realizing that the season wouldn't start and saying bye to any hopes of reaching the elite within a couple of months. Injections, massage, X-rays, more injections, physiotherapy, osteotherapy, hundreds of dr appointments, nothing would work. I got also accepted to UIBE for the fall semester (very excited for the moment) and said au revoir to Paris. Never would I have thought that China would change me so much. It has been very tough mentally when it came to training with the Chinese team in both Beijing and Tianjin without any mental coach nor Bidou guiding me but I think I know for sure what I want now and I'm excited for the spring season coming up. 2016 was quite a special year. Back to Taipei, we walked all the way to the National Palace Museum and we even made our own little oeuvre d'art before dancing with Taiwanese lockers in Tamsui

The days fly by so fast that I'm having a hard time knowing what day it is and the dates. It was raining on Thursday too and we were exhausted after the long shisha bar night from the day before so only Bea and me decided to check Chiang Kai Shek during the afternoon. We managed to nail the lowering of the flag around sunset, a nice type of ceremony with the national anthem and then this little boy that imitated the soldiers (doing the exact same thing, nearly better than the real ones). After that we decided to walk over to Taipei 101, it took us 1h but since we're always talking and joking around we didn't really notice that and bums we arrived to Taipei 101. Fake all over the place, juice from carrefour, singer singing with playback, cakes from Paul and shitty view to top all of it. Fact is, the view from the restroom was amazing, glas all over the place. In conclusion, not worth it but it did make a really good story for us to tell to everyone ✌🏽️

Taipei didn't show off its most flattering sides the very first days. But it didn't stop us from visiting some temples #tourist. Beatrice aka French Top Model doing her photo sessions like always. Selfies with the sweetest ke'ai 可爱 Chinese lady ever, she helped us with the map for Ximen. Ximen is the shopping area, loads of small shops for reasonable prices 👐🏽

Immigration took 2h, there were so many people
👩👧👧👨👦👦👩👦👦👩👧👦👨👧👦👩👧👨👧👨👦👩👦👨👨👦👩👩👦👪👨👩👧👩👩👧👩👩👧👦👩👩👦👦. Crazy! Anyways, after some map skills I made it to the hostel Happy Taipei which is located right in the smet of Shilin Night Market. Had some jaozi and some Taiwanesisk street food before sleeping like a baby. Beatrice and the girls arrived at 03h40 (😂) because they missed the afternoon bus. Tomorrow it's time for some sightseeing and planning NYE probably since we're going to the beach tomorrow ☀️
Ni hao Taïwan!
I was literally this close 👌🏽 to miss the flight. As the Viking I am, I really thought that the bus would come at 07.30 and not one minute later. At 07h57 I finally got on the bus and I realized we had 50 km to the KUL airport (tuntuntun). Stuck on the bus I listened to some music because I couldn't get off the bus on the high way, pray to the God I don't believe in and just cross the fingers I would make it. At 09.02 isch I made it to terminal Klia2, ran to the counter Air Asia and ask to check in for Taipei flight 10.05. The guy says no. It's closed. I panic and make a huge scene (telenovela version) and he starts to make phone calls and runs away with my passport (?!). These were the slowest 15 minutes of my life. Imagine the panic. Buuuuut. Then he says OK. "But you have to run because the gate closes in 15..." Pff 15 is a lot of time I thought. I just forgot that I had immigration, security and gate to get through...
