L'aventure de Eva - Morocco

27 March 2018

March 27 Part 2: As a little gift I gave people the canadian maple candies and it was so funny parce que c’était trop sucré pour beaucoup des étudiant Moroccans mais des étudiants américains n’ont pas aucun problems avec la sucre dedans. Also, Haytam was rlly interested in me and Amber because we are blond blue-eyed people. But either way he gave me a Moroccan bracelet that says «love» and it was so nice. I like him so much.he takes pictures in his cam all the time just like me. The at contexture was so amazing! But the best part was that the doors were a perfect height for me😂! Super short! Lol...
March 27 Part 1: Today we saw Samyas amazingly gorgeous school for the first time! And omfg it crazy gorgeous. It was such a nice chill day. First we went around and looked on different classrooms and we took pictures while students were there which was un petit peu bizarre. Mais c’est correct. After looking at those we went into one room to see the presentations of the second school de la culture Moroccan. That’s what they call it too. Once the presentations était finis, nous avons jouer 2 truths and a lie but a cultural version. Then we played the down by the banks game.

Lots of the Moroccans sang for us and it was beautiful. After that there was a petit play about a king. Then, a bunch of the students wanted us to try the robes traditional mais c’était juste amber et moi. Ils ont été vraiment pretty! Then lots of boys, comme 10, a voulu pris des photos avec nous dans nos robes. After we finished we took some lunch and we had rice, beef, eggs, and these really good plums! It’s was so good! We then took more photos and now soon we will go on a tour of Meknès!
March 26 Part 2: The tour was SOO so nice. Ilias, he looked up YouTube videos that morning and gave us presentations on different places. The first place was an underground jail. C’était absolument fou! It is huge and it’s thousands of kilometers under the ground of the entire city! In the 1700’s they would throw prisoner down through holes into this huge underground maze. And it’s so difficult to find a way. Once they sent in British explorateurs dedans et ils ont été perdu pour éternité! They never found the other supposed exit. After the that we went to see this place where lots of horses were kept for the kind. The architecture était vraiment similaire à le prison. There was also a written passage en français que je pourrais comprend complètement. Next, we went to the awesome coffee and tea house to have some and it had an amazing vue!
Our conversation was so nice and I was so happy because I practiced my French so nicely!
When it was finished I had to wait so long for it to dry so I talked to her sister, cousin and other cousin a lot! It was very interesting to hear their questions. N’importe quoi, at one point we were talking abt religion and the sister was like ´do you think u will convert to Islam?´lol. Everyone was like so surprised and going crazy but I was like, it’s fine; I’ll answer any questions.

25 March 2018

March 25 Part 1: Today was really fun! First we got up and had breakfast at the hotel and even though it was a normal breakfast it was SOOO good. Then after we hopped on a bus and went to Maâkanes which took about 1.5 hours. The we met our host people which was so exciting. With them, we then ate couscous et nous avons parler de nos cultures différentes.
She has this one amazing room with a gorgeous hand carved ceiling and red and gold cushions. After meeting her mom and grandmother we also get her uncle, and FaceTimed her aunt. Then we went to her friends house, _____, where zoe was staying and saw her house and ate. Then we returned. The streets are SOO interesting. Women always link arms and have to ignore the men that bother them. Also, if women don’t feel comfortable ou safe they ask a brother or uncle to walk them places. It’s so nice to see healthy food like that. Kissing on the cheek is also very common..
March 25 Part 3: And the children give kisses on the cheek and it’s so cute! What I thought was SO funny and different is that when j’ai revenue à la maison, j’ai marché up les escaliers et la grande-mère de Samya ma donne une enfant qui a eu deux ans! Vraiment différent and curieux. After meeting the family ____ with Zoe and Yasmine with Shivanni came over. We ate a meal a talked more. Once they left we talked more a watched a video of the marriage of Samya’s aunt and uncle. Moi et l’enfant, Quinzaines a dansés beaucoup! Puis nous avons mangés un AUTRE repas. It’s was just as they said, Moroccans are so sociable and they will just stay up until you say you want to go to bed. Eventually we remembered to say that. We talked with Samya for about another hour et puis maintenir c’est 2:30AM! Mon dieu! Je dois me lève à six heure alors au revoir!

24 March 2018

Also, there are apparently men that will follow and you have to ignore them. They’re in every country but apparently it’s a bigger problem here. After that, a professor from un université a venu pour faire présentation du culture et histoire du Maroc. After that we had more down time then went to eat at this Syrian restaurant. It was SO SO good. Like what we hav at Carrie and Gary’s in Ottawa but better. I ate SO much. Then for desert we had this delicious pistachio pudding. During the meal I would talk to the waitress in French and everyone would be so impressed😂lol it made me feel like I was good at french for a hot sec. After the meal we went back to the hotel and chilled in our room, played
March 24 ish part 2: Since there was four of us we got this super fancy sweet room with 2 showers, cool lights, curvy ceilings, a huge long couch, lots of chairs, and a REALLY tall ceiling. For the rest of the day our room became the hangout spot because it was the coolest. After i washed the mud off everything, we went out to eat lunch. We went to this Moroccan place and we had this really good chicken and goat milk yogurt for dessert. It was SO good. After that, our tour guides walked us around the winding little streets of Rabat and we took lots of pics or the gorgeous buildings. The roads were so skinny and and windy and there were stray cats EVERYWHERE. I think Olympia a conté soixante vingt! We eventually got back to the hotel and after some down time we went to the hotel lobby to listen to our tour guide to give us tips about Moroccan culture...

23 March 2018

March 24 ish part 1: Ok so the next day, aka today, aka still kind of the first day, we started off in Casablanca. The air was so fresh and humid and felt so good after that long plane ride. After we went through customs we went outside and what was the first thing I did? Fall in fricken MUD! So my coat, pants, and pillow pet were covered in much and it looked like I straight up shit myself. What a great start🙄. Anyway free that we had to go on a mini bus to drive 2 hours to Rebas. Before we left I literally changed my pants in front of everyone;boys and girls. At first they closed their eyes but got bored👍🏼we got real close. On the bus I tried sleeping more but it was also uncomfortable. I need to lie down when I sleep. When we finally got to Reba’s, we got our hotel room for the first night. I was with amber, Olympia, and Thea; could not ask for a better group!!! It turned out we got this AWESOME room....
Wow! It has been one longgg asss dayyyy!! I feels like it’s been days since we were in the classroom this morning/yesterday morning/idek what day or time it is anymore. Anyway we met in Mr. Noyes’ classroom second period, then hopped on a small coach bus around 10:30AM to JFK. We got there around 5:30 and after going through security, literally waited there for 3 hours since our plane didn’t leave till 9PM. We played cars and hung out to pass time. There goes an entire day. Finally we boarded the plane but by then I was STARVING so I had to wait till that served food an out later. I watched Dunkirk while waiting; that film was really disappointingly boring. Once we got our meal I tried sleeping but I was in the middle or 2 people and even leaning on Amber was SUPER uncomfortable. Plus my legs were all tight from not exercising all day. Anyway, 5 hours later of in and out sleeping we landed in Casablanca and it’s was 8:45! Time to start a full day after it had been practically 24 hours?
