Will miss ya London
Day 4 Thurs part 2
Abs woke and we went to Aldwych where I watched Carol King's musical Beautiful. Was in heaven as my mum has her LP Tapestry and I was brought up with it. I didn't realise how many songs Carol had written before she went solo:
Up on the Roof for the Driftees,
The Locomotion for her babysitter Eva,
Take Good Care of My Baby for Bobby Vee
I'm into Something Good Herman Hermits
Pleasant Valley Sunday The Monkees
and so many more. A must see.
Met up with Abs and Tom for drinks and dinner in Soho. Taxi home, great day.
Day 4 Thurs part 1
Had a bit of a lie in, coffee in bed with TV. Bus into the city and enjoyed breakfast in Grosvenor Square. Sourdough bread toast and jam, delicious. Traffic was so bad we had to get off the bus and walk to meet Joe in Holborn. Joe took us into Warner Brothers and gave us a tour of the preview screening room. What a fun place to work at. So proud and happy for Joe. Said farewell as Joe was leaving with 8 work colleagues to Portugal that evening.
Covent Garden for a drink whilst watching the entertainers - Australian who got his body through s tennis racquet and unravelled himself out of chsins in 2 minutes! Amazing but his sense of humour was lost on tourists watching.
Sat at Leicester Square watching the world go by. Abs had a nod in the square whilst I got chstting to some other spectators.
Lovely couple from Essex who bought me

Day 2 contd
Needless to say the evening went downhill as lots to drink and catch up with. Ended up at Soho, a gay bar but very quiet. Didn't stop Sue and I dancing.
Great day and night.
Day 2 Tues
Fabulous sleep went for a swim in both outdoor and indoor pools. Pure bliss .
Checked out of hotel and walked to catch the Hop on and Off bus round Bath. Had coffee listening to the musicians in front of the Roman Baths. Heavenly in this beautiful but sooooo hot 🔥🔥☀☀
The Roman Baths were anazing and so educational. Very well done. Hard to believe these were the actual thermal spas thousands of years ago.
Headed off to Torquay, stopping off at a cute pub for light lunch.
Arrived Torquay and stayed in a fabulous B and B ; delightful couple and a lovely room.
Walked down to the marina and had cocktails at Coco, bar. There we met our very old friends from Riyadh, Sue Hashil and her fiance Jimmy with some of the children who are now grown up. Also Bendar , a Saudi married to an English girl Debbie. Sue was my Consular case in Riyadh who was a prisoner ; her Saudi husband prevented her from leaving Saudi and I formed a group called Nuts for women like Sue for support.
