Time to head to Venice. Our accomodation was really good. It had a huge pool. As it wasn't on the island itself we needed to get the bus and a people mover into Venice. I am so glad I am coming back as it is so beautiful. Very peaceful with no cars. We did a gondola ride which was relaxing. After having some lunch and a bit of a wander around we needed to get a water taxi back to the bus. It was a very hot day so we were all looking forward to chilling by the pool.

Last night was the best sleep I have had on this trip. I think the early night helped. Thankfully Taryn was feeling better so we headed to the Colosseum. We had to wait in line for a while and it was so hot. I am really glad we went. We had some delicious pizza for lunch and went to the Pantheon. I'm not really sure of the history but it is a stunning building. Our next stop was the Trevi Fountain. Something I have always wanted to see. Magnificent. I threw two coins over my left shoulder so romance should find me soon. Fingers crossed!

Today started off with a walking tour through Florence. It was pretty short and finished with a talk about leather. It wasn't what I expected. We only had a couple of hours of free time so we grabbed some lunch. We had been told that florentine steak was a must when in Florence so we gave it ago. Was definitely worth the price (100 Australian $$😯). We both needed some red meat. Feeling satisfied we got back on the bus and drove to Rome. We had some dinner (and some wine of course) and went on a walking tour with our guide. Unfortunately we only saw the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain before we went back to the hotel as Taryn wasn't feeling very well.

On to Italy today. We had a brief stop in Pisa to see the Leaning Tower. We then made our way to Florence. The weather was the complete opposite to Switzerland. Very warm. There was a cross dressing party at the hostel which I didn't take part in but it was entertaining watching everyone else. Taryn and I paddled our toes in the pool but it was far too cold to go in. Brrrrr!
