Today I took a day trip to Bruges,Belgium. It’s a three hour drive from Amsterdam. I met a girl named Alison from NYC. We hung out together on the 1 hour tour then had lunch at a quaint restaurant with a very inviting fire inside. It was cold and overcast. I had Flemish stew (which is basically a bowl full of meat) which came with a side salad sprinkled with dressing that tasted like Miracle whip, Yuk! What I did really like was the glass of cherry beer. Afterwards we went on a search for the chocolate museum (which was lame). Didn’t even compare to Theo in Seattle but the praline we had was amazing! I didn’t know that praline was mixture of hazelnut paste, milk chocolate and coco butter inside a dark chocolate shell. It was so creamy and smooth.
The architecture in Bruges is amazingly intricate, very European, palatial yet the town is very quaint with its narrow cobblestone streets and horse drawn carriages.

The buildings are full of detail and character.
The original Body Worlds, great to see if you can handle it. The human body is crazy amazing.
Starting my adventure today with a good nights sleep, last minute packing, (not my intention but it’s appears to be my m.o. these days...ugh), and a safe drive to SFO by my very handsome chauffeur, Curt ;-)
I’m excited for the abundance of “firsts” this trip will dole out.
