We slept in until pretty late this morning since we were out until 6am this morning. Last night consisted of the Lebowski bar, Boston bar, Kiki bar and Austur, then ended the hopping with a Pizza before heading back to the air bnb. After our late start and breakfast in house, we went and checked out the Harpa convention center before having dinner at a lovely little indoor market where you can pick from several small pop up restaurants. I got a duck and blueberry salad from Kröst which was very delicious.

After checking into our next Air BNB I took a walk around Reykjavik and saw most of the downtown area by foot.
Stopped for the famous everything Hot Dogs of Iceland...
View from atop the Perlan...
The Perlans Ice Cave and Glacier exhibit, cost was a little over $20 US after a discount due to some of the interactive exhibit being closed.
Checked out of our Air BNB this morning after a nice breakfast and sunrise, and headed towards Reykjavik.

Continuing around the Golden Circle we came to the UNESCO world heritage site known as Pingvellir, situated where the Tectonic plates separate. Amazing cracks in the ground and a spectacular view of the lands, accompanied by a fire sunset. Unfortunately my phone died from the cold so minimal photos were taken.
Second stop was Gullfoss Waterfall, super amazing, but super cold and windy, so be prepared and bundled up! On the way out we stopped on the side of the road where a nice family had a small stand to feed and pet their Icelandic ponies. They had so much hair to protect them from the severe cold.
On our way around the Golden Circle, our first stop was the Geysir! Warm waters left the land thawed and the smell of sulfur and eggs filled the air. The lighting is perfect today for photos.

Checked into our Air BNB near Ölfus and decided on frozen pizzas for dinner to budget for eating and drinking out in Reykjavik later this weekend. Cute place with a geothermal hot tub and plenty of sleeping spaces. Hoping to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights early AM or tomorrow night.
Stopped at Dyrholaos black beach then the town of Vik to pick up some lunch from the local grocery store. Got to get a top down view of how wool is processed, while inside the local “strip mall”.
Arrived in Reykjavik, picked up our rental car, sat in some traffic, watched the sun rise at 11AM and checked out Skogafos from the bottom and top of the falls!
