A good old fashioned trip to Weymouth

2 September 2017

3 July 2017

A lovely break away with the family, an amazing modern caravan, with the added bonus of two Haven parks to use. Beautifully warm summer weather, and despite the 'bug' we all had a great time. Memories are what it's all about xx
Feeling better this morning and after a bacon sandwich, we began our journey back, stopping off at Avon Heath Country Park for a stretch of the legs.

After a leisurely lunch in the caravan we took a walk to the site next door to float around their 'lazy river' and a relaxing sunbathe by the poolside...yes, it really was that hot☀️ Later the others went out for a pub meal whilst I stayed in, throwing up!!!! That is 3 out of 5 of us so far!!
More fun at the beach
Off to Weymouth Beach for 9am. Lovely and warm, easy to park and not many people on the beach either. As you can see we've built an amazing fort, complete with towers, flags and a moat.

....and fun on the beach.
Off for walk to Bowlease Cove to try some rock pooling.....
After a bacon and sausage sandwich we explored our centre then went to The Weymouth Bay site next door for a game of crazy golf, with Kes winning! Back to our site and Ari went to Messy time to make a kite.
We went to the Show Bar for family bingo....didn't win our fortune though! Ari enjoyed the Seaside Squad dancing and games. Sam did a bit of 'Dad dancing!'

After picking Kes up from work in Winchester we made the two hour journey down to Weymouth (Seaview Holiday Centre-Haven) with only a brief stop for a bit of car sickness! The caravan is amazing, either things have changed since last time I stayed in one or we've been upgraded. I could live here!! We more or less put the oven on straight away for pizza, setting off the smoke alarm a few times. The young ones have gone down the club for a bit, with Ari and I chilling out with a Peppa Pug colouring book.
