A day in Singapore

In the evening we met up with Shiong and Darren and had some food in the Outram station, I had the laksa noodle curry with coconut and prawns, Shiong said this was a traditional dish for the area so I wanted to try it and it was delicious! After eating we headed down to the garden by the bay, now all lit up in the dark, it was so beautiful! The bridge was closed so we couldn’t go right up but we got really close under them and watched the light show, it was so good! It was sad to say goodbye to Shiong and Darren but it had been so lovely to see them! We headed back to the hotel for a quick 4 hour sleep and then onto our flight to Australia! Singapore...it’s been emotional 😊
Singapore is such a beautiful city! We were not blessed with good weather but even in the rain there was so much to see! First stop was the raffles hotel! We were going to have a Singapore Sling as this is where they were invented but it was only 10am...so we saved it for later. We moved onwards to Burgis and Orchard Street for a bit of shopping! Then lunch and a Singapore Sling on Clark Quay before we boarded a boat down the river! We saw the boat quay with all of the traditional restaurants, the Merlion in his new location and ended our journey at Marina Bay Sands Hotel. It is such a huge building! Three towers with what looks like a boat on top. Inside is a casino and hotel. We made our way to the top and saw the beautiful infinity pool. It wasn’t really the weather for a swim but some people were and the view was amazing! Then we had a drink on the bar at the top and took some pictures of the Garden at the bay and the view! We will visit that later in the dark!
