South West Australia

4 December 2017

The day started with rain. We reached Cowaramup to do some shopping at the Candy Cow And Moonhaven. Thereafter, we visited the MR Nuts and Cereals , MR Chocolates factory (it was crowded) and was disappointed that the MR Dairy Company was closed. Had lunch at the Cheeky Monkey, a Brewery, vineyard and cidery. Food was passable.

Day 2 (3 Dec 17) Had s simple breakfast of toast and creaks at the Anchorage Guesthouse. The owners are a nice friendly couple. 1st stop - Mandurah Eastern Foreshore for the Sunday market. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to purposely go there for the Market. Mostly home made and craft items. Probably less than 20 stalls. Then we headed over to the Mandurah Centro which is a rather big mall which houses Kmart, Target, Big W, Coles and Woolworths. The purpose was to go to the Telstra kiosk there to buy buy pre paid SIM for data for our journey. Unfortunately the kiosk only sells handphones . We were directed to buy our SIM from Kmart and we had to activate the SIM ourselves. We didn’t manage to do it successfully. Still pending. Thank God I had the foresight to subscriber to Singtel Data Ready Roam at $12 for 1GB for 30 days
And this is 5 am in Rockingham

Day 1 of our 7 day trip to Margaret River and Perth Reached Perth almost 6pm. Collected our rental car, Toyota Camry, from Hertz at the airport and set off for Rockingham. Our accommodation was quite a surprise. Anchorage Guesthouse is located in a quiet residential area within walking distance to the foreshore and beach. The place was tastefully done up in a warm and homely way. There are many restaurants and cafes at the foreshore area. We had our dinner at Lavoro, an Italian restaurant. It was packed. Food was quite good. We had wood fired garlic cheese pizza, ravioli, salami pasta, chicken scallopino and a scotch steak. Portion size was big.
