Day 3: today was an aclimatization day in Namche Bazar. We hiked up to a view point about 4 hours round trip to Everest View Hotel. The air is definitely thiner and I have a niggling headache that wont go away. It was soo cold at the top but worth it to get our first views of Mt Everest.

Day 2 was a little tougher with 6 hours trekking to Namche Bazaar (3440m). The last 2 hours were a slog going up..thankfully all that stair training paid off 💪 No sightings of Everest yet.

Day 1: From Tenzing Hillary airport (2804m) we hiked 3 hours to Phakding (2610m).
Landed safely 🤗 tick off the bucket list flying into the worlds most dangerous airport. We fly so early in the morning to increase the chances of landing. The pilots are flying blind meaning there are no towers or anything telling them it is safe to land.
The flight is around 30 mins long. After around 10am flights stopped until the cloud cover cleared so we were lucky to get in. The length of the runway is 527m (the average is 1800m).

First day in Kathmandu was a casual day..money exchange, got a sim card, a bit of shopping for hiking items. One thing that is hard to handle is the dust..there is soo much dust that you can feel it on your teeth and clogging your lungs. My nose feels blocked all the time. Had a curry for dinner with nann, it was good a little spicey but still good.
I must be getting hardened in my older age I know the me of 5 years ago prob wouldn't have eaten there. The place did have good ratings and Shane and I are hoping we dont get sick before the hike so trying to choose wisely.
