Last day in Madrid. Explored the San Miguel Market and a modern art museum.

Toledo would not be complete without viewing a synagogue built in the 12 century and seeing metal work in action. The Damascene jewelry is spectacular.
Cathedral de Toledo. Beautiful architecture and art. Glad to see a few more Goyas and El Greco paintings while in Espana!
One of the oldest churro makers in Madrid. Fresh churros y chocolate! Delicious! Aside from the deep fried deliciousness, I enjoyed my first Bocadillos de Torillas.
The Royal Palace of Spain. No longer the home of the king, but used for special occasions. Pictures do not capture the beauty of this 1 million square foot home. Not to mention the priceless Stratavaria String Quartet Spain owns and has on display!
Plaza de Toros 3rd largest bull fighting arena in the world. Gorgeous exterior. Hard to believe it was built in 1929.
Starting the day off right with a fantastic European meal. Lots of meat, cheese, bread and coffee!

Group dinner tonight in Madrid did not disappoint! Not only did this restaurant share the main dishes from the various regions of Spain, but served two delicious and traditional dishes! Fantastico!
Museo de Prado- El Greco, Goya, and Tres Meninas. Then a walk through Retiro Park.
Delicious cafe con leche and cinnamon roll with dulce de leche. Quick pic with Erin at the Bear and Tree statue- the symbol of Madrid.
Museo de Jamon. Unreal hams and food. Are my first Empadillas. Yum!
First day in Madrid! Watched the sun pop over the horizon this am. Hit the ground running with a walking tour of the city of Madrid. Toured the Museo de Prado and Retiro Park. Still more to come!
My Chicago to Madrid travel buddy! Destination Spain!
Checking out the New York skyline while waiting for my flight to Madrid out of Newark.
