Jesse's tour through South Korea

14 September 2017

Sometimes jet lag can be a gift. Took advantage of waking up at 5:15 to see view from my apartment at sunrise, and get myself unpacked. A good start to routine. Next: time for a morning run. Also: I should turn off alerts on my phone as that's definitely what woke me up.

Seoul appears to be a city where taking a bus in from the airport is both the cheapest and most efficient option. This sets a nice tone for the start of my trip, as I like traveling like a local but hate wasting time and energy in a city with a lot to go. The seats are spacious and air conditioning keeps me cool even while wearing a blazer over a sweater. There's a TV in front playing news, which flashed a clip of Trump for a few seconds. As we journey towards the city I notice a series of architecturally interesting bridges, making me think about the role that rivers play in shaping cities.all the while, I listen to my Spotify discover playlist streaming over the unlimited wifi egg I picked up at the airport. Connectivity from minute one.
