15 January 2014

San Diego Slow disembark but we did not mind as it meant less time waiting at the airport. They let us use the lounge after checking in.

14 January 2014

At sea which is now rougher again, last day at sea people now wanting to get off the ship and go home. Flight home has been confirmed and boarding pass printed.

13 January 2014

At sea which is a bit calmer, you are aloud on deck at your own risk.

12 January 2014

At sea it was not rain but a storm, outside decks shut off because of the strong winds and the sea swell. Read in Atrium.

11 January 2014

At sea which is calmer the captain has said that we are heading into rain later.

6 January 2014

Avatoru Rangiroa It is an atoll among many, the captain took us right between two atolls never have been so close to land without docking. Having lunch today at the Pinnacle today so a light breakfast was all we had. Lunch not that special.

5 January 2014

Cooks Bay Moorea A morning cruise to Moorea took only two hours, it looks a lovely island. We had planned to have a sail on a catamaran but it got cancelled so now we relax again. The island is the rim of a volcanic crater with the ship anchored in the middle of the crater.

4 January 2014

Papeete Tahiti On an island tour today the bus is better air conditioned working. The tour took us to a Blow Hole, Waterfall, water garden and a surf beach. Waterfall was good even though there had not been any rain. In the Water Gardens there were several types of flowers we had not seen before. At the surf beach it was to hot to walk on the black sand, plenty of locals out waiting for the right wave.

3 January 2014

Uturoa Raiatea Raiatea today we are on an island tour the bus was supposed to be air conditioned which did not seem to work. The only good thing about this trip was at the family run Pearl farm where we learnt all about growing pearls. The guide was good but not much else to see or do.

2 January 2014

Vaitape Bora Bora Vaitape Bora Bora Luxurious cruise it was a small boat with a big engine that the guide loved to race. Good job the seats were well padded. Only six onboard which was reduced to five when a big Swedish man decided he would prefer to eat and drink in the Hilton hotel, we all said no he then said he wanted to go back. The guide took him back and we continued our tour. The water is so clear and all different colours of blue and green beautiful. To finish off we had a swim in the sea, it was not easy getting on and off the boat but worth the struggle. The Swedish mans wife seemed to thoroughly enjoy herself without her husband, maybe it was the Rum and Mango juice that was served. Two types of Sting Ray were swimming in the sea near us.

1 January 2014

Vaitape Bora Bora At sea until about 5:30pm when we arrived at Bora Bora. Land spotted at 2:15pm but we did not stop until 5:30 long time sailing but a good book makes the time pass quickly. Overnight stay, we have a tour in the morning. At sea. Guess what it is still the 30

31 December 2013

At sea. Guess what it is still the 30th but ( B ) as we thought. A day at sea with 30 knot winds, it was a struggle to open the doors to get on deck.

30 December 2013

Tabaueran Fanning Island This is a coral island with a lagoon that opens to the sea, there is snorkelling with Rays, Black Tipped Sharks etc. Another piece of information this day is the 30th ( A ) so we assume tomorrow will be 30 B.

29 December 2013

At sea reading.

27 December 2013

At sea. This should be Saturday but as we have crossed the International Date Line we missed it.

26 December 2013

20 December 2013

At sea after breakfast read until 9:30 when I went to learn about Windows 8, Sylvia dived into the jigsaw puzzle. There seems to be diesel fumes in the library area this made us try the outside it was just warm enough to sit and read.

19 December 2013

At sea reading in the morning in sleepy hollow ( library ). Later on we went outside and found out that it was warm enough to sit out on deck.

18 December 2013

At sea again so more reading. The show tonight is an ABBA tribute band they were fantastic it was the best show we have seen on a ship.

17 December 2013

Breakfast in the dining room followed by a stroll around the ship before going back to our cabin and getting our things. We then headed to the library and read our books.

16 December 2013

Saw the ship arrive this morning, had a light breakfast and repacked ready to board ship. Boarded ship found our cabin then went to lunch, afterwards picked out library books before going back to the cabin. Decided to explore some more of the ship on opening the cabin door we found our cases had arrived we then decided to unpack. At the time of our evening meal we were still in port waiting on passengers from Switzerland, it was nearly 7pm before we departed. Lights of the city and ships were quite nice. We had an early night decided to miss the show.

15 December 2013

Spent some time by the pool relaxing, then went and sat in the lobby of the hotel. It was there that I received the text that my sister ANNE had passed away. Went up to our room when the lobby got crowded and relaxed some more before having an early dinner. After dinner we took a walk along the promenade, what a fantastic sunset. In the harbour there were numerous small boats getting ready to do a light parade, some very colourful.

14 December 2013

Luggage

13 December 2013

Arrived at the bag drop at the beginning of our next holiday, to our surprise we were told our firm tickets were now standby the wait begins. At 1pm we checked at staff check in and were told to hurry the flight was nearly ready to go. At security it was crowded, saw the sign for fast track and went for it. Getting out of the lift at gate A10 our names were being called. It was lucky that the gate was near security. Flight good in club had a window seat great views over the Rockies. Landed and this is where it all got to why do we do it. Luggage had not arrived, it was a very long wait to get our details logged. So many others all queuing. Eventually made it to the hotel.
