Everything comes to its end, also this amazing trip. I've been home for a couple of days now, but I already want to go back! I had such a great time! The last day I had a nice dinner with good friends and packed my bag. One day I will visit Korea again, I'm pretty sure about that! :)

After scrolling down at the Changdeokgung palace, I was really hungry. I saw this cute street on the go and found a Italian restaurant. The pizza was delicious! So now and then I really crave for a dish without rice haha. This was a excellent choice.
There are so many palaces in Seoul. Today I visited Changdeokgung palace and the secret garden. Again, it was really beautiful! Unfortunately we could only get in the secret garden with a tour.

Omg and this day was just a little too scary... I went to the North Korean border. I was so nervous all the time. Last week I booked the tour, they didn't have any space till this day. There was a dress code. I wasn't aloud to wear open shoes, skirts or pants that show the skin above my knees. My shoulders must be covered. From Seoul it was a bus ride of 1,5 hour. Two times our passport was checked and I wasn't aloud to make any pictures. Only two places, but the time we spend there was too short to make a good picture. We had to walk in pairs of two and we could not make any eye contact with the other side. There were soldiers everywhere. But beside all the strict rules, I am happy that I have seen it. North Korea feels like a different planet. So empty and quiet. I'm happy that I was born in the Netherlands. I hope that this story makes any sense. It's hard to explain the experience. There is just too much to tell. But I think to understand it all, you must have seen it for yourself.
11 September 2017
I went to Namiseom. Namiseom is a island where you can do activities outside Seoul. We had to travel two hours with the subway but it was all worth it! It was so peaceful and relaxing.
10 September 2017
Today we went to Hangang and did some relaxing near the river.
9 September 2017
Yesterday I visited Namsangol Hanok village, again very pretty. I got the chance to see a traditional dance. It's sad that I cannot share any videos in this app.

Food and more food, I just can't get enough of it. I'm pretty sure that I will gain all the weight I have lost in the past year haha.
6 September 2017
I also went to the Seoul tower and had this amazing few over the city.
"De koning" who sells stroopwafels. I haven't tried one, but I thought it was funny.
4 September 2017
On this picture you can see the Dongdaemun gate, it was really pretty.
It's been a while since I posted something here. Everything is still going well and I am still enjoying my time here!
I went to the design plaza (also called DDP) near Dongdaemun. It was amazing! After scrolling down for a while I did a bus tour. It was really touristic, but I kind of like these kind of things.
3 September 2017
Today we went to the Korean folk village. Unfortunately I didn't make a lot of pictures with my phone. For lunch we had a salad and a Korean pizza. It was delicious! We drank Makoli, which is a Korean rice wine. The drinking culture is huge here compared to the Netherlands, so it felt really weird to drink at 4pm in a amusement park.
When we reached home we had a Skype meeting with friends in the Netherlands. It was so nice to have a chance to speak with each other again!
2 September 2017
We were tired and hungry from the spa, so we had a amazing dinner in the Lotte tower. We ate Bibimbap and a Korean snack.
After the bike tour we went to a Korean spa. I haven't been to a spa in the Netherlands, so it was a bit weird for me. But in the end I really enjoyed it! I tried this traditional Korean drink made of rice. I was surprised about the sweet taste.
Today Eunji was free from work. We did a bike tour along the Han River.

After visiting Gyeongbokgung palace, I went to Buckcheon Hanok village. I had a amazing strawberry latte and wandered around the village for hours.
Today I payed a visit to Gyeongbokgung palace. It was truly mesmerizing. So huge and so beautiful! I had some traditional Korean tea and snacks.

I had dinner near my house. Sometimes it is hard to order a vegetarian meal here in Korea. Mainly because most of the dishes contain meat. But my friend recommended a app, it's called Papago and it translates everything you want. It is soooo convenient! My feet hurt from the long day waking, so I had some Korean style stickers (I don't know how to call them) to relax my feet. They are wonderful.
I could see the changing guard ceremony in Deoksugung palace and I had a Belgium waffle. Later that day I went to Namdaemun market. But it was just too crowded for my taste. I didn't stay long.
My second day in Seoul is wonderful. I went to Seoul plaza and Deoksugung palace. I had dinner in such a tiny restaurant, but the food was delicious!
30 August 2017
Today I went a little bit easy on myself. I've slept till late and when I woke up, I did some grocery shopping and got my usim. (Korean phone card) After 6pm I met with my friend. We had dinner together and walked around Hongdae. The weather is truly lovely. I think I can survive over here!

I'm going to try to write this travel journey in English, but it is not my mother language. So forgive me for any spelling mistakes haha.
The journey from my home in the Netherlands till my home in Seoul was approximately 28 hours. When I arrived in Seoul, I was dead tired. 😴 I couldn't sleep at all in the airplane. My friend Eunji came to pick me up from the airport. It was incredibly nice to see her again. (We haven't seen each other in 3 years!) After she had escorted me to my nice apartment, she showed me around my neighborhood and we had a small Korean meal. I had a short fight with my shower because I couldn't get it working, but that turned out well. My bed is lovely, I fell asleep straight away and when I woke up, my back didn't hurt! Now I'm going to explore the city!
