Before and after the trek: devastated people 🤡🤡
And it’s with this photo that I want to close the chapter of Ciudad Perdida: the gold prize 🍺 to honor the effort of 2 young and naive explorers, who against all odds managed to reach the end of the trek and come back in one piece....I guess.
But well: cheers Celso, we were not the last in the queue and we did not fall in the trap of your dark hands! 👹........🖕🏻

Indigenous encounters through the jungle
Yaaaai let’s start the way back....we can don’t blindfolded obviously 🤡👹💀
After 3 days walking we finally get to the Ciudad Perdida 🙌🏻🏔🏞🌴🗿
We can’t believe what our eyes are witnessing: we are at the heart of Sierra Nevada lost in time and space
A selfie with our guide Celso was a MUST
Thanks Celso without you I would have been killed by bed bugs and Gian would have drown in the river
Those last 500 steps🏔🏔🏔🏔
And our guide: not even a drop of sweat, dressed in his white line outfit 💦💦💦💦
The moment has finally come: river crossing to get through the last stretch of the trek.
Someone here is particularly feeling like Indiana Jones 🤠🏞🌊

Bed bugs time 🙌🏻🐛🕷⛺️
Some coca leaves tea to get us going through the Sierra Nevada 🍵💪🏻🍁💪🏻🍵
4am alarm, already walking at 5 in the morning lights.
Day 1 ✔️
We finally get to the camp, where humidity all around and bed bugs are waiting for us! 🙏🏻🛏🐜
We start to get to know our group:
- the Austrian🐏: raised and born with spinach and milk🥛 💪🏻 and fighting with wild buffalos. He was basically the real life copy of Popeye. He climbed ciudad perdida blindfolded.
- the Frenchies🥖🧀: positive entertainer. They basically smoked all the way throughout the 3 days hike. Iron lungs
- the Germans🍻🤘🏻: nice and friendly lads. One was 2 meters high and was making 10mt at every step, the other was shorter but walked like a leopard, he basically walked barefoot throughout the hike.
- the fake Swiss couple🇨🇭: that lovely Swiss couple which at the end of our journey we realized they did not even know each other, mainly due to the fact that the girl revealed to be the sister of the exorcist 🤢
- the Belgians🍫: he basically left his girlfriend to carry the huge backpack throughout the walk. Aka “the Gentleman”.
24 August 2017
The first day is pretty chill: 7km walk in 5 hours, mainly on flat ground with "few" hills...
After the first big slope we are smashed but still look pretty fresh!😎
A thunderstorm is approaching 😰⛈
The day has come! We get to the Turcol office, which is the tour operator we chose to undertake this beautiful trekking, and we get explained how we are gonna divide the kms in the next day of walk 😱😱😱😱😱
Last selfie altogether before Airoldinho leaves for Salento area! 🤳🏻👨🏻👨🏽👨🏼
We leave Tayrona and Magdalena area behind us and head back to Santa Marta where we spend our last night in the nice boutique hotel Casa del Patio before the 4 days trekking in Sierra Nevada

20 August 2017
After our last night in Cartagena we hit the road again direction Magdalena area on the north east coast, where we reach our isolated Accommodation: Rancho Luna, a family run set of bungalows literally on the beach front. We spend the day chilling on hammocks and relaxing with the chirping of tropical birds
19 August 2017
I fall in love with a delicious tropical fruit called Pitaia that vaguely recall the Dragon Fruit 🍈🍍Apparently I was supposed to eat only half of it to avoid stomachache 🙃fell in the trap
Back in Cartagena, and I discover another addiction: agua de Panela. Basically a cold drink made out of sugarcane, lime and mint to refresh from the city heat 😋
On our return to the Hostel the third caballero seems to feel much better: LA VITA È BELLA🏝😴
18 August 2017
We spend the rest of the afternoon discovering loca cove and beaches. Playa Libre is our favourite, with white sand and crystal clear water
Waited for this since Cuba😍 grilled lobster with coconut rice on the beach front 🍚 🦀
Slowly waking up under the first sun rays 🌄😴🐈
🌅🍺We end up the day drinking beers under a beautiful Caribbean sunset🍺🌅
17 August 2017
We wake up lateaftwr partying at La Movida and we lose the fast boat to Islas del Rosario.
Luckily our receptionist at the Cartagena Hostel helps us to organize a private boat 🛥
It turn out to be a random fish boat drove by 2 young locals who have no clue where Paraiso Secreto is. This is supposed to be our destination in Isla Grande.🌊🚤🌊
After 2 hours drive in the middle of the sea we reach Paraiso Secreto and we finally get to know our new accommodation: Hostel Fulano. A hip accommodation with carved woods and inspiring painted quotes run by international staff⛺️🏝🌊☀️
16 August 2017
We spend the rest of the afternoon getting lost in the tiny colored street of Cartagena.
Our favorite city so far in Colombia
Enjoying an awesome late lunch at La Cevicheria
Falling in love with Cartagena as soon as we stepped out of the taxi😍🇨🇴🌴🎨
First impressions of the city
Sky priority? Nope, back to economy Pablito🤣
We leave Medellin behind us direction --> Cartagena de Indias👋🏻🌃
15 August 2017
Angelinos encounters on our way back to Medellin.
Dead heroes called it for the day 😴😴
In the boat ride back to Guatapé, someone is taking precocious measures against tonsillitis⛄️
In the late afternoon we decide to take a boat ride to visit Pablo Escobar's villa. Only ruin remains of his mansions built in the middle of the Guatapé lake.
Pretty astonishing to visit places of endless parties and crimes 🌴💉⚗️🚬💣⛓🌴
We spend the rest of the morning visiting the colorful village of Guatapé. We fell in love with all the colored houses on smaller cobbled streets
The following day we wake up early to catch a bus from Caribe bus station, direction ---> Guatapé, a colorful gem 2 hours from Medellin.
We start the day with a hike up to Piedra del Penol. After 740 steps when we reach the top of the rock we are amazed by the landscape that our eyes are witnessing. Thousands little island and arcipelago surrounded by artificial lakes 😍⛰🌊🏔🌊☀️
Breakfast distractions from local wildlife!🐈
Pussssaaaaa via gatto!

We spend the rest of the afternoon in Jardin Botanico and encounter a friendly Iguana 🦎
We have dinner in this delicious restaurant called Carmen near Parque Llernas, a must try when visiting Medellin
Our first day in Medellin we wake up early to get the most of the day. We start in Plaza Botero with some ignorant selfies and end up our afternoon visiting the beautiful Pueblo Paisa on Cerro Nutibara. Breathtaking views of the city ☀️☁️🏔🏙🏔☁️☀️
We slept at 61 Prado, nice and super efficient hotel even though there is not much around that area
13 August 2017
Eccoloooo!! Another little devil on the plane 👹👶🏽
I think I came to realize just now that I am cursed with screaming kids on every flight I take 👋🏻✈️
We spend the rest of the afternoon climbing up to the Cerro Guadalupe to see a massive white monument of the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe with breathtaking views of Bogota. End up the day visiting other areas of Bogota and shoot to the airport to take our first national flight for Medellin!
🇨🇴 Finally all reunited in South America 🇨🇴 we spend the rest of the morning discovering la Candelaria area and we get lost in the beautiful colored streets
The third of the three musketeers finally arrives in Bogota and we immediately hit the road, destination Chia! We go enjoy a fun night out at André Carnes de Res, famous restaurant to eat meat 🍖🍗 and we hit the dance floor with local Latin music 🎶 VAMOOOOOS 💃🏽🕺🏽🎶🍷
12 August 2017
We finally made it up to the Cerro Monserrate and the view and skyline of Bogota is breathtaking 🏙🏙🏙🏙🏙🏙
Highlight of the day: on our way to Monserrate me and Stefano make a holy encounter the Pope! Ciao Papa francesco 👴🏻👋🏻
While waiting for the third of three musketeers, who is probably snoring and spreading saliva on Lufthansa's airplane, me and Airoldonho went to Sant Just for lunch: a famous French-Colombian restaurant where we enjoy good Chilean wine and a nice filet mignon🍖🍴🍷
I finally arrive at the Anandamayi Hostel in La Candelaria, where Stefano is jerking off on the hammock waiting for the rest of the crew! The place is awesome: different inner courtyards full of plants and colored hammocks!⛺️🌿⛲️
Finally landed in Bogota and welcomed by a cloudy sky and 19 degrees. When on the taxi🚕, on my way to the hostel, my attention is captured by thousands street art and murales! I love this city already 😍🇨🇴
